  1. Both Bugs I've released went missing rather quickly. The one on my truck has been "discovered" twice in four years.
  2. I'm getting into the habit of carrying outside the home at all times. depending how I am dressed, it varries from a Taurus TCP380, Taurus PT140 to a 1911 45ACP. Much more so than insurance, I hope to God I'll never need them, but if I do I am prepared.
  3. Go for it. I Hid a cache on an island that has only been found once, over two years ago. I know from several local cachers it's driving them nuts, being the only local cache they don't have.
  4. Around here it's usually only hours. My latest cache GC1XA0C has been out for two months and not found. Two cachers told me they were headed out in the car at night time when they realized it is on an island in the Columbia River. I know it's really bugging a couple of locals not getting it yet.
  5. Thanks for adding the link and pic. This site is the worst that I've dealt with, for computer idiots like me that I've seen to try to add links or pics.
  6. Check my post Etrex toggle button for my fix. On my computer it is on page 6, the last post was March 6. So far bouncing from my neck or shoving it in and out of pockets hasn't hit the button once.
  7. Trying to add pic.http://s611.photobucket.com./flyinghranch3etrexjpg I keep getting an error message when I try to add the pic. Maybe someone can help.
  8. 1. it is white plastic like the fittings for vaccum lines on your car 2. CA is basically superglue.
  9. How do you add a pic to a post? When I click on add image it tells me to add a URL to a website. When I search for info I get an error saying using prohibited words, img... etc
  10. I cut a ring from a plastic tubing elbow and used thick CA to glue it on. I can still work the toggle with my thumb. I put in and out of several pockets and so far it is doing its job. Now if I can figure out how to add a pic.
  11. I wish Garmin recessed the toggle on the Etrex line. I get tired of pulling it out of my pocket or even hanging from my neck to see that it marked it as found, marked a new waypoint, or paned to another area. I'll have to see what I can make to glue to it to protect it.
  12. So I would have to add a log entry, load the pic and description for it for people to see it??
  13. I want the note to show when you select the pic from the gallery. I only see it if I select edit image.

  15. On a pic for my TB all I see is the pic title but no description. When I went to edit pic details the description I added shows as a note. How do I get the description to show with the pic?
  16. I hope Groundspeak fixes this soon. Windows xp, IE6 dial up. I have tried to download ie7 but estimated time is over 3 hours and my internet connection keeps kicking me off. So far I haven't seen any indication that Ground speak is even addressing this issue. The bad thing about downloading caches from the Garmin site is they don't have the newest caches for my area listed yet

    My GPS

It does the same for me.
  18. I just went to Garmins site and was able to send to gps with no problem . So I would say that gc.com deffinately has a bug on their site since making changes.

  20. Two days ago mine worked fine. Today I see some new changes on the geocaching.com page and it won't do s#$@&. I downloaded the new plugin and the test page says device detected and working . When I try to download coords it says to download pluggin. Since so many are having problems today I would say that something got screwed up when gc.com made the new changes.
  21. Thanks for the info. It should get me close enough to find it.
  22. A benchmark I want to look for has NAD 83 coords. I changed my GPSr to NAD 83 and entered the coords. When I changed my GPSr back the coords are the same. Does this sound right? I figured they would change a little.
  23. Thanks for the info. I hadn't found that option yet.
  24. The thing I like about Garmins site is I can see all the caches in an area at once on a map.
