  1. Is goecaching still legal? I hardly think that the legality of geocaching (globally at least) could be changed since the last cache you found in August. Everybody still griping about micros? That will never change. Is the 60cs still the best.. Depends on who you ask. Glad to have you back.
  2. Maybe you should see this thread Geocaching as an online dating service
  3. I set up a once daily Google Alert a long while back with the keyword "Geocache". It's very surprising the Websites, Newspaper Sites, Blogs, etc.. where geocaching gets mentioned and talked about. Ohgr
  4. There is lots of free music out there for the legal taking. It took about 15 minutes of shaking the Google tree for these to fall... Thousands of FREE Live Recordings. Most shows available in many different file formats. 5. I tend to think of caches as entertainment. If I go to a movie, I'm entertained (maybe) for 2 hours. It costs' me around $12 if I go alone, and double if I go with my other half. If we go out caching, it usually lasts' the better part of the day, if not most of the day. So I really don't mind spending a buck or two for something to put into the cache, whether I take something out or not, I always leave something (space permitting) In a couple hours of caching, we are usually way more entertained than we usually ever are at the movies. 10. Thanks for the invite Yanni, If I go I'll have my girlfriend bring her change purse Played the lotto tonight so I could afford the trip, but the $10 we won will only get us to the gas station. There are really two sets of rules regarding geocaching, the guidlines that GC.com has set up, and personal rules for your own cache. If the personal rules don't conflict with the GC.com rules, you can make up any rules you want. You own it. Example: Red Sneaker Cache No one shall open this cache unless they are wearing red sneakers. Must e-mail picture of feet in said red sneakers with cache clearly visable to log this find. And for Sonoran Privateers: 0101010001100001011010110110010100100000011101110110100001100001011101000000110100001010 011110010110010100100000011000110110000101101110001011000000110100001010 0110011101101001011101100110010100100000010100110110111101101101011001010111010001101000011010010110111001100111 0110111101100110001000000110010101110001011101010110000101101100 01101111011100100010000001100111011100100110010101100001011101000110010101110010 0111011001100001011011000111010101100101001000000110001001100001011000110110101100100001
  11. Nice job, I'm always looking for cool stuff like this to pass on to Non-Cachers to give them an intro to the sport/hobby. Ohgr
  12. If you don't want anything left in your caches, your best bet would be to say so on the cache page, and on the log paper. Feel free to send me any coins that you don't want. Ohgr
  13. Holy Cow, Now those are some marbles....!!!! I commonly drop a handfull of marbles along with something else into a cache and expect some kid who comes after me to grab the lot. But my marbles aren't nearly as cool. Make good and sure you write on the cache page and maybe a note in the cache, not just in the log book but glued inside the lid that you only want people taking one marble. I say inside the lid, because sometimes people don't read the log books, they sign and run. But if there was a big note inside the lid people will see it. Send some of them to So-Cal, I'll only take one.. Ohgr

  15. Any time you can find a way to attract "good" people to an area I would think that the "bad" elment would move to another more hospitable (to them) environment. Ohgr
  16. Reading the title of the post, I immediatly pictured, a Pasture Pastry, a Cow Pie, or some Road Apples. Then the old Cheech and Chong Dog S*** skit flew through my head. Seriously I would think it was a sig item also unless noted otherwise on the cache page, or in the note of whoever left it. Ohgr
  17. I'm glad to see there's not a category for the most HIDES in a 24hr period. I know a couple people I'd nominate though. Ohgr
  18. I don't know how current this is, might be up to the minute as far as I know. Top 1000 Geocachers based on Caches Found Ohgr
  19. If you want to see good press on Geocaching almost daily, set up a Google Alert for Geocaching. I get almost an e-mail a day for newspapers running articles on this "NEW" hip and trendy sport they call Geocaching. It's actually kinda fun reading these as they try and sometimes succeed in explaining what it actually is. Ohgr
  20. It's going to be pretty hard to trade up or even for a PS2! Is this going to be a FTF prize? And can we ask why the urge to give away a PS2 to a fellow cacher. I'm oh so curious. Ohgr
  21. If you want to stay logged in or rather be automatically logged in when you reconnect to the forums, Turn cookies on or add forums.Groundspeak.com to your cookies exception list, and when you go to log on be sure to check the "Remember Me" ckeckbox. Ohgr
  22. This Cache Semi-Survived the fires that came through Southern California a while back. But the ensuing rains over land that didn't have anthing to hold it together anymore have caused so many new canyons that it it has made this cache a fairly difficult hunt now. So sometime's it's not the fire, it's the aftermath that screws up a good cache for people.
  23. The Lock & Lock containers seem to be gaining a lot of popularity around here, and time will only tell if they last. They've got a couple things going for them. They're cheap, and come in a variety of sizes. And they too can be cammo'd. I painted this one with Krylon Fusion paint first, then added the rest of the stenciling. This will be my first go with a Lock & Lock, we haven't actually found one around here yet, but I hear good things Ohgr
  24. Porn, and a bag of human looking hair, couldn't tell if it was a wig, someone got a lot of hair cut and for some reason saved it, or there was a head in the bag. ( I didn't look inside ) Ohgr
  25. Picked up some "Electronic Stuff" over the weekend at the local 99cent store. Spy Sound Amplifiers. They're about the same size as the Small altoids tins (Not the breathstrips) came with headphones and an extra battery. They actually work really well, amplifying everything. Might actually be kind of useful for hearing mountain lions sneaking up on you. You can see a picture Here And no it's not my auction. You can pretty much tell what's junk and what's not, and since everything is 99cents or lower, you might as well pick out something nice. Ohgr
