  1. I hope this hasn't been talked about before but if not here goes.... While posting a log I used the > < symbols around a word. The log was chopped off at the <. It must have been a bit confused thinking it was html code. Rosco
  2. I'm looking for admin to address this, not trying to start a war on which software is the best for caching with your clothes off.... Then you should email contact@ if you want Groundspeak to address it. This is a discussion forum and people will respond even if you don't care for it I may be wrong and I am sorry. Is this the place to ask for features to be added to the web site? If not then I'll do the contact@ thing.

  4. Sometimes it's nice to include the cache owners name in your log for one reason or the other but you may not remember it or know how to spell it. What's the chance of adding that to the line where the cache name is?? Thanks
  5. 1. More than 72 hours. 2. 48-72 hours. Or did I read that wrong when submitting? 3. Straight forward caches. The approvers know me. I don't put out caches they can't approve without looking at a map. Anyone else have excuses??
  6. Thanks for the explain. For sure a No-No. I think I said that already anyway with food and beverage. Sorry...
  7. I have no idea what "mead" is but leaving food or beverage in a cache is a NO-NO.........so......... Good luck.
  8. Just do like some of the people here that have no lives do. Sit with your finger on the refresh button all day and keep hitting it until a new one shows up, then hall butt and hope you beat them. It's more luck and being ready than anything else. Premium or not you have to be fast on the trigger....... FTF's are ok but some people build their whole game plan around them. It takes the fun out of planting them sometimes. Why not just take it to their house, let them sign the log then put it out for the others. FTF prizes are not worth putting in a cache for the same people over and over........
  9. Not a valid excuse. Sorry...... Besides that, I live in Spokane, NOT THE STATE......
  10. Personally I feel that it should NEVER take as long to get a couple of caches approved as it has for me. I planted them early Sunday morning the 7th, came home and put them on the site. It's now almost 5pm on Wednesday the 10th and I'm still waiting. What's up??
  11. Not sure why you "found the same cache twice" but have you looked to see if that or any other cache you have found is now archived? Those caches don't come in your PQ's. That has always been a problem with counts. Also, are you pulling your PQ's to include ALL states you have cached in? I only pull from Washington/Idaho where I live but also have 50 some in Calif that I don't pull. My "yellow box" only shows 180 some when I have over 300. Does any of that help?
  12. And it was you that said. It's TECNU...before caching AND after! Or maybe it wasn't PO you got.....
  13. Glad to see you got the major multi up and running again BooBooBee... As for insterting a hyperlink, are you using the http:// tag button above the text box window?
  14. First of all you probably have to many things checked on your PQ setup and it's not generating anything. After you set one up run the preview to see what comes up. You can play with the settings until you get what you are looking for. Since you are using GSAK you might find the best way is to pull an EVERYTHING PQ then let GSAK do the work for you. One more thing to remember when you get it going is that your found count showing in GSAK will never be the same as your actual number. The reason is if you find a cache that is now archived, PQ's don't pull them. Anyone else want to add???????? <spelling>
  15. I've gone through a few different programs but with GSAK on the desktop, GPXSonar on the Axe along with Mapopolis it's a tough combination to beat. It's up to the user to use what they feel comfortable with in the end though.
  16. Hey there Clyde, Long time again for me not being here but I've been busy? Oh well anyway.... Not sure if this has been talked about before and I did some searching but couldn't find anything... How about giving us the option to turn off any of the icons on the tool bar that we don't use? I don't use ozi or mapsource or cachemate or some of the others. It would be nice if they didn't "cluter" up the ones I do use.... Thanks Rosco
  17. I was down that way from Spokane Wa. visiting my brother Ca Racetramp when the POC cachers had their picnic and voted in the official name. It's a great group of people with lots of stories to tell. The bbq was super and I had a great time. The web site is looking great bro Good luck to all of you in your caching adventures and for crying out loud...... Make sure to carry some Calamine with you.
  18. I can only guess but I would tend to believe that there is no limit to GSAK and the amount you can sort. I would think it is/was a limit of the amount of memory you have. Then again I've only worked with files of 5 megs or less on a system that didn't know I had loaded something.
  19. Normal. It's the LCD being charged to show the display. Why would you put your ear to it anyway??? Were you trying to make a satellite call?
  20. Ok here goes but you are responsible for your own doing it wrong or not.. After you have turned on your unit hit the menu key, do a right, left, right, left on the main big button. You will see a small window come up with two zero's in it. Using the big center button hit up until the numbers say 03. Now hit the enter button (one with arrow pointing to the left). You will see a window with some boxes and if your WAAS is on the three will say On ON ON. Hit your enter key and that will change to Off Off Off. When it says off then hit the escape key (one with X on it) a couple times. Turn off unit, turn it back on and have a nice day.
  21. As I have posted and mentioned in some of the other discussions about this subject, check out the results of our "test" on this http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...03-e6d73de04fcc. We really weren't surprised as to the results. Everyone in any kind of weather was very close. The original coordinates were taken with a brand new Garmin (can't remember the model) and a Magellan about 6 months old. We both had the same numbers....
