  1. But you couldnt combine those pages, having a cache page with the listing, and having it be tracked through a TB page?
  2. I had a cache idea that i am certain is not a new idea, but it's basically a cache that moves. I will place a cache at one location, the person who finds it, takes it and moves it to another place. They log their find, then post a note containing the coords for the place they placed the cache. This allows the cache to keep moving. Is this allowed on geocaching.com? Also could i put a travelbug tag on it too? to keep track of mileage? Then for maintenance, if a person picks it up they are responsible to check the log and replace it if needed.
  3. I meant it by caches being in the water but thanks for all the info
  4. I got my PN-40 just yesterday, and i wondered how waterproof it really is. I saw it meets IPX-7 standards, which is defined that it can be submerged up to 1m, but with the power and USB cable attachment open on the back i was wondering- can i go swimming with it? Can i do simple geocaches that are in the water and now worry about my gps getting ruined (above 1m of course)?
  5. Just one last question (this one is really an opinion, but i want to gauge it anyways) Does the extra cost (i can get a new pn-40 for 180) (the cheapest PN-60 ive found is 350, and thats on sites that i trust, like amazon and ebay, ect.) justify upgrading to the pn-60? Or would i be better off buying a PN-40, and saving $170? Don't argue about it, i'm just looking for some opinions about it.
  6. I am getting a Delorme PN-40 sometime this week, and i had a few questions about it. I am getting it with Topo 8.0, can I upgrade to Topo 9.0? If so where (a link would be great), and for how much? Also would it be worth getting rechargeable batteries? Or if not, what kind of regular batteries would work better? And on Delorme.com it says the PN-40 with Topo 8.0 is discontinued, but the PN-40 they're selling now comes with Topo 9.0, is there any difference between the two besides the different version of Topo? Another question is the library subscription worth it, or are the base maps good enough for geocaching (could you show me which base maps come with it)? If you did subscribe to the library, do you get to keep the maps if your subscription ends? Or are they deleted? Are there any free maps on Topo? Lastly, before i order my PN-40, would it be better to save up for PN-60? Or is there no real difference (besides a few small things like processing, internal size, ect.)? Thanks for your help, gojomoso
  7. I've waited 3 days for my cache to be reviewed but it still has not been published...
  8. Oh well, I think we're doing OK for beginners... have over 20 caches found since July 6th and only 2 DNFs which came yesterday, but thanks to a message from one of the cache owners, we have a hint as to where one of them is now - and will reattempt the other one also. so im going to buy a gps, so should i buy the Magellan Maestro 3225? i would really like to know if its good for geocacheing....
