  1. I am having the same difficulty. I reinstalled the Garmin Plug in, but is still will not recognize my OregonT. I do have a delightful new tab to allow me to upload to a DeLorme device- I think this is new. I wonder if this is one of the reasons that the site was down for maintenance today..... Hope someone can help us out. I've become so spoiled. I need instant access to my geocaches Wah!
  2. Or what if you still can't find it after searching a long time and need to have the person who re-hid it last show it to you during a sushi-caching event, hmmmm?
  3. Is that a Westfalia Vanagon? We had ours for 15 years before the engine caught fire and burned the entire interior -- totalled. I cry whenever I see one, I loved ours so much.
  4. I would like to adopt this one. It was hidden in July 2003, with no one finding it until we did a couple of weeks ago.. it had been chewed up by animals (it was hidden with bags of chips in it, and there was a mess of paper and platic near the spot we found it) The owner has not logged into the site since Sepember of 2003, and the e-mail that I sent was returned unopened. T120 CCV by BSA Troop 120 In California, United States Hidden: 7/25/2003 Use waypoint: GCGHJW (what's this?)
  5. My son had one approved in less than 6 hours today... we were up helping daughter/sister paste up her hisotry project and submitted the cache at about 2 am. When I got to work this morning at 7:30ish it was already up and ready to go. YAY and Way to go, approver! We love our guy!
  6. Here ya go: Atlas Shrugged Book Description At last, Ayn Rand's masterpiece is available to her millions of loyal readers in trade paperback. With this acclaimed work and its immortal query, "Who is John Galt?", Ayn Rand found the perfect artistic form to express her vision of existence. Atlas Shrugged made Rand not only one of the most popular novelists of the century, but one of its most influential thinkers.
  7. The link by the op has a smaller one at the right side of that page $99... our local home depot sells them for only $30. My son used one to hide his Rocky Road cache: people seem to like it based on the logs: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...c7-38c61b219e37

  10. What strapped-4-cache said.... and also get GPX Sonar lets you view cache pages on your ppc.... I load up pocket queries for an area, and then I can go paperless-always have the cache pages with me, can decode hints when I want, and make field notes relevant to individual caches that we've searched for.
  11. OR maybe people are confused... see this thread: Jeep Travel Bugs, Entering your name in the sweepstakes.
  12. The first name I used here was scienceteacher&fam... then we decided that I would not teach any longer and I needed a new name. Was irritated by some of the smuttier things that can (and do) happen when people get online .... Decided to focus on the blessings that I have (great husband and kids)....
  13. I hope that I was not misunderstood.... I think that TBs (including the Yellow Jeep ones) are fun.... they add another dimension to this already wonderful activity. I was just wondering why some people are logging them in and out of caches repeatedly.... for example: one local cacher logged the one that they had into and out of at least 10 caches..... many in the same day...... just curious about the logic behind this....
  14. I am trying to figure out why people want to hang on to a YJTB rather than pass it on. No better chance of winning an actual jeep by logging it in and out of multiple caches, which is what people in our area seem to be doing… can’t trade it in for a new GPSr….. no additional chance of winning a $50 bundle of merchandise for a winning essay or photo…. Maybe it just makes people feel important. Any insight?
  15. Edited to start a new thread....
  16. Wow... would you like to donate a copy to a school library? I would make sure that the students treat it kindly.... Grovel, grovel....
  17. Yes, what Reel Rider said. I would also cover the book with the materials that we use to make books more durable.... Please select Matthew Gage Middle School's librarian (me) or her son (Reel Rider) so that we can have a book about geocaching in our library. Do I need to beg? Okay, I will. This year the state has allocated almost no money for school libararies..... we need any books that we can get... and a book about this wonderful activity would be excellent!
  18. Thanks soooooooo much... I know he will be thrilled .... and thanks for not making me grovel too awfully much... (now, is it too picky to point out that we use a magellan sport track map.... or should I just shut my mouth?) I really do think it is great! Thanks! Love you forever! I'll make time to change the GPS unit later, that was just all I had time for before work this morning. Oh, Mad Puppy I think it is great! And thanks so much for doing it this morning before work! Do not worry about changing it (I am embarassed for even bringing that up now)
  19. Thanks soooooooo much... I know he will be thrilled .... and thanks for not making me grovel too awfully much... (now, is it too picky to point out that we use a magellan sport track map.... or should I just shut my mouth?) I really do think it is great! Thanks! Love you forever!
  20. Oh, I was sooo hoping that someone would come up with a something like a GPSr going around on a roller coaster for my 12 year old son (reel rider). .... he also likes the beach, plays water polo, and loves anything techo-nerdy... But it is not like me to beg and grovel
  21. I have an HP1945... I use my fingernail rather than the scribe with the aquapac.... don't need to worry about losing anything... this works fine...... but the backlight needs to be up to full for ease of seeing.... For the other things that I do with the pocketpc, it is back in its leather flip case and I do use the scribe...... I am not completely happy with the arrangement, but it is MUCH better than seeing my 12 year old holding my treasured pocket pc in the pouring rain. as we did a couple of monhts ago. I am going to monitor this thread to see other responses... Thanks for starting.
  22. I am using an aqua pac case... bought mine online from rei http://www.comfortchannel.com/level.itml/icOid/2736 IF you are looking for a hard case, perhpas try Otter boxes: http://www.otterbox.com/ And don't you like the way that your life has been changed in magical ways by geocaching with a PDA and GPX Sonar?
  23. Hi My 12 year old son has become a cache-aholic. He chose the username Reel Rider because he adores roller coasters (he rides the "reels"). He is finishing up elementary school on Thursday, and ..... it would be cool to have some clever avatar to as a surprise to present to him on thursday. He uses the GPS that he, his sister, and dad gave me as a mother's day present.... it is a magellan sportrak map. I would love you guys forever if you could come up with something. Thanks!
