  1. Where were you able to find the old version? I can not seem to find one. Thanks
  2. We would like 2 please. Hope to see you on the trails (or at least in the logs) Team WRK&FSH
  3. We would be interested in at least four coins and can help distribute in Williamsburg. Thanks Steve for doing the leg work and doing this. Great idea. Hope to see you on the trails (or at least in the logs) Mark of Team WRK&FSH
  4. Would it be possible to add found visits to a cache page? I have several caches and thought it would be nice to know the found count for each with out having to add up all the notes and subtract them from the "logged visits" count. This would be interesting to see on some of the old caches (classic caches), how many finds they have had in the past 3-4 years. Many of our areas original caches are still around. Just a thought, Hope to see you on the trails (or at least in the logs) Team WRK&FSH
  5. We are newbies with under 200 finds, but we use bought fishing lures(bassproshops and Walmart sale bins) and make alot of our swag. I have bought direct from http://www.riteintherain.com/ while I buy GC.com log books I did not like the micro books as they were not rite-in-the-rain, so we buy riteintherain copy paper and make micro books. Hope to see you on the trails (or at least in the logs) Mark of Team WRK&FSH
  6. Tminz the e-mails, are they coming with Geocachinghamptonroads in the subject ine? I see that you signed up for our local yahoogroup. It does get quite chatty at times in there. I am going to send you instructions thru the group. Mark of Team WRK&FSH
  7. Yes, the object of the game is to keep the travel bug in the other teams territory. This round starts when the bug moves so it sitting in this cache is not gaining or losing points for either team. Originally I was going to start the game with most of the players scratching their heads wondering how we grabbed it. But decided to just let it ride. Thanks for all the responses. Hope to see you on the trails (or at least in the logs) Mark Team WRK&FSH
  8. I figured it out but am going to leave it alone to torture other players <eg> Team WRK&FSH
  9. I'm not good at converting cords. The bug map gives me 37.052 76.482 how do you convert this to WGS84 format? thank you for your assistance.
  10. I have a question I hope this group can assist me with.. If you know the waypoint name GC# is there a way to find the cords before the cache is approved? Here in hampton roads we play a "hot potato" game with a travel bug and it is in a cache that is waiting for approval. Thanks Hope to see you on the trails (or at least in the logs) Mark of Team WRK&FSH
  11. I'd add a fishing pole to most lists!
  12. We would support it and order one or two. If the logo is used I think the profit sharing option should be used at $10.00. Just like using the "official" stickers or giving window clings and travel bugs as FTF prizes or stashes, the sharing would be another way to support the site costs of our game. Team WRK&FSH
  13. WILLIAMSBURG -- Trees still standing but leaning precariously present enough of a safety hazard that city Parks & Rec Director Paul Hudson will close Waller Mill Park for the remainder of 2003. Hudson made the announcement Friday, saying damage at the 31-year-old park was extensive. "It's like someone put the park in a blender and turned it on high speed," he said. Already crews have removed 50-60 truckloads of debris, and the job is far from over. Fallen trees make both of the park's walking trails impassable, and a gravel road to one of the picnic areas will have to be completely rebuilt because uprooted trees severely damaged it. "The trees on the ground are not so much of a worry," Hudson said. "It's the `leaners,' the ones that are bound to fall sooner or later. There's just too many of them." The news is bound to raise the ire of fishermen who are already clamoring to get back into the park and the reservoir. "It's a safety issue," Hudson stressed. "People don't fish in the middle of the reservoir. They fish along the shoreline, and there are too many leaning trees that could fall at any time." Hudson recalled one of two deaths that occurred at the park since it opened in 1972. Two fisherman in a boat were trying to get back to the dock during a storm and hugged the shoreline. Wind caused a tree to fall, which struck the boat and trapped one of the men, killing him. A playground area near one of the park's picnic shelters was completely destroyed, and two shelters were damaged. Also damaged was a mountain bike trail. The park's operations and maintenance buildings, both recently rebuilt, escaped damage, as did the bridge that leads to the walking trails. The park is normally open year-round and generated $50,000-$75,000 a year in revenue. Hudson said the loss of business and user fees will hurt, but the park's busiest season is over. He added that people holding annual passes to the park will have the time extended by 3-4 months next year to make up for lost access. Those who had rented shelters for activities will receive a refund. Hudson said the park could reopen in early 2004, but certainly by the start of the spring season. "This was not an easy decision," Hudson said. "It was easy in terms of safety, but tough from the standpoint of shutting down a public facility."
