  1. Thank you both for your replies. We still have so much to learn. Did the binder thing, but it's too large for the back-pack with all the other stuff, GPS, camera, swag, water, etc. So we took some of the pages along and ended up not having the ones we wanted. Never had or used a Palm product. Are they like an electronic organizer? You mentioned use, but how old can you go before it doesn't have what I need? Thank you both again.
  2. OK, so I've downloaded cash corrodinates to the GPS for a 25 mile radius. New at this, didn't know when to stop. I've also printed out a most of cashe info from the WEB site. Now what? How do you keep your info organized so it's handy when you decide to go cashing? Here's what happened. While driving to go grocery shopping (about 20 miles) we decided to do some casheing. So I reached in the backpack for the GPS and found a few nearby. Then I rummaged through all the pages I printed out looking for the right ones. Found 2 of the 3 we needed. At this point I figured there had to be a better way. HELP!! How do you keep organized? Being new to Geocashing, this forum has been a source of a wealth of knowledge. I have learned so much from reading through the many topics. Thank you all very much for your help. So far we are having a lot of fun. SKPnGo
  3. There is a Website that's sole purpose is to rate Geocashes for the handicapped. They ask peolpe to rate cashes they planted or found so others will know what to expect. Check it out www.Handicashing.com and check out their rating system http://www.handicaching.com/ratingsystem.html. A cashe would have a rating of H 21313, if it was more than 500 ft away over grassy terrain with no obsticals and was hidden over 6 ft above ground level. Maybe a link to their site could be added. It would be great if we all use the same system.
  4. NO NO NO is my vote. As a diabled person, that handicap rating and height information tells us if we can reach it from a wheelchair, or if kneeling/stuping over/ or reaching up is required. These are important factors to someone with limited movement or ability. Also, we need cashes to hunt for too, you know. We all can't climb mountains or trek through the woods. Rating something as a 2 might remove it from our search autmatically. And rating it 2 so you don't have to input that it's 3 feet off the ground is down right mean. One suggestion might be that the site puts that kind of information under a pop-up link or something so that those looking for that kind of information can get it, but it's not on the main cashe page for those that don't want to see that detail information. My 2 cents for the day. SKPnGo
  5. Thank you both for your replies. We have so much to learn. Almost overwhelming. Love the challange. SKPnGo
  6. Just getting into Benchmarking and haven't even hunted for the first one yet. However, when looking for a benchmark to start with I came accross Benchmark: LY2311 information. My problem is this mark may no longer exsist and I don't know where to post this. Bridge #3 between Shahola, PA and Barryville, NY was torn down and rebuilt bigger and wider then it was in the past. Work was started in 2004 and due to several floodings, didn't end until the summer of 2007. Since the information that is being used to find this disk is from 1982, I wanted to share what I know about the new bridge. Well my husband and I are off to look for a GPS system and a stamp. We have decide to try our hand at Geocashing, Benchmarking and Letterboxing. If we get a GPS today we may try one of each on our way home. SKPnGO
