  1. I have to say that although I have never played EQ, I do play The Sims Online and I understood almost everything you said... hte scary thign is that I have caught myself almost saying LOL or BRB or AFK many many times when I am offline! Scarrrrry. LOL
  2. Welcome to all of you! I am loving it.. but then again I knew I would... Everyone has been really helpful and the cachers in my area really seem to have a lot of fun. They are planning a breakfast later this month and I can't wait to see and meet them all! Yesterday, my sister and her boyfriend joined my nephew and I on their first hunt. Her boyfriend says he is going to go and get him a GPS soon and join us. Spread the word! This is great fun and great exercise.
  3. I personally am making a habit of leaving all my stuff in zip lock baggies.. just keeps it nicer..
  4. Love the tat... it looks great! Be sure to keep lotion on it and take care of it the way they told you to. I had some problems with mine when I got it done and had to have it redone. Word to the wise.. it doesn't hurt that much the first time you get it done... but if you have to have it redone.. OUCH that does hurt! Mine is a moon with a face in it... I got it on my 33rd birthday earlier this year. As for regretting it... there are times.. like when I put on that formal dress and have that portion of my back exposed.. but the rest of the time I sorta forget it is even there.. and since I don't reckon you're going to be wearing any formal dresses... I guess your safe.. Congrats!
  5. Don't you hate when you come up with a really (what you think is) original idea only to find that someone else thought of it first?? LOL Great idea! I am just starting out and my husband and I took sandwich baggies and packed a trashbag in them... then labeled them with "Cache in Trash Out" and a provided by line, and we went one step further and have created miniature "trading" cards that are laminated to put in with them. We plan on creating a whole series so who knows where they may end up! Which reminds me that I need to get him to put our "handles" on them... I am always thinking of what I need to do after its already too late! LOL
  6. Hiding a cache in a messy bedroom seems like a perfect idea to me..... of course.. an even better one would be padlocking it and not giving him the key until the room was actually clean... It's horrible the things we hated our parents for doing to us as kids are so funny now to do to our own! LOL
  7. Good luck... you're going to love this! We found our first one today... took us a while to get the hang of using the GPS.. but man.. what a thrill!!!! My 8 year old nephew "chestnut" was so excited we had to go back again a second time... LOL Good luck and HAVE FUN! Happy Caching!
  8. Just thought I would let you know that I / we (took my nephew "Chestnut" with me) and he actually found the cache. We had a great time and I was right... I can see this becoming a great hobby. THanks everyone for your help... we got the Garmin Etrex and for what we are doing it seems to work just fine []
  9. Instead of starting a new topic, let me pose this here... Do you have to pay for the sites that you download the maps and coordinates from? I noticed yesterday on boatersworld.com that there is a new garmin model that works with software (not available until April) and my father seems to think that you have to have a subscription to the sites that offer downloading maps and coordinates?
  10. YAY! I think I have convinced my father that this would be a great thing for my nephew to become involved in and he is getting us a GPS (crossing fingers). He is a gadget guy so it wasnt a hard job! LOL Emailed Cache Hunter 1 and hopefully will hear back from him. I AM SO EXCITED! I already have 2 caches ready for hiding.. hehehehe... We are looking at a very basic GPS unit, the Garmin Etrex... comments anyone???
  11. Yesterday when attempting to post for the first time, I kept getting errors saying the post didn't go through.. This morning... I notice that they did in fact go through.. Just didn't want anyone to think I was an idiot
  12. Saw the article this morning in yesterdays Roanoke Times. I never knew this existed! What fun! I don't have a GPS yet, but hope to get one either used and inexpensive or possibly as a gift for Christmas. My husband and I have had an awful year financially due to both of us being out of work at the same time for a good spell. Just yesterday we were thinking of things we could do that wouldn't cost a lot of money but would get us out of the house. I just spent the last 2 hours researching Geocaching and I have to tell you I AM SO EXCITED! I have a nephew who is 8 that I am sure is going to think that this is "awesome" as he likes to say! Ok.. Off to gather things for my first hidden cache... this is going to be so much fun.. hehehe
