Are you sensing free Hob Nobs?
[edited for poor english - engineering degree I'm afraid]

I've had an e-mail from Gowenhouse that they are to be featured (don't know what that means).
I don't think they frequent the forum.

As a student (many years ago), I used to do car Treasure Hunts and Navigational Scatters. We went through the same discussion on using cemetaries. This was bought about when one clue was abandoned almost universally as there were mourners in the cemetary. Different I know as these events would entail up to twenty teams arriving in a four hour period.
When I came across caches in cemetaries I felt the same unease, but I have enjoyed wandering arround after finding the answer to when did John Smith die. I also think that all the cachers I've met (virtually or really) would walk away from a sensitive situation rather than claim the cache.

Well that explains the problems I've been having - rather it explains why I've been having problems.
e-mail on the way.

Let us know when you planning this if you want company. If it is after the end of the football season I might be tempted. Not one for the rest of my team though.

I've checked with Mrs RTB and she says anything that gets rid of my junk would be OK, except that people swapping for their lower grade junk is definitely not on!!!!
So my junk stays as Thomas Edison said "To invent you need a good imagination and a pile of junk".

shucks
Not sure artistic is the word I would use. Needs must when its me and not the rest of the boys. And this is my Summer walking hat (from NZ) - there is a Winter version (from Oz).

Pic5 is my hat.....

Unusual for a cache to last that long in Wiltshire, usually stonefisk has bagged it within hours, but he has been quiet lately. I was away getting some Lancashire caching in and only noticed the new cache this evening (and a couple of junior football matches for the junior RTB's wouldn't have helped.
One difference that I have noticed ais that here in Wilts we don't really go in for cache series. While away in Lancs I had downloaded the nearest caches to both palm and GPS. I was visiting a factory and saw there was a cache within half a mile but this was part of a series so the co-ordinates were false and I didn't have time to do the rest.

Just back from a job interview and the interviewer had seen Sunday's program!! When the HR bod asked what Geocaching was - the interviewer answered!!!!
Now is that a first?

How do I explain this one to Mrs RTB?
Finding tupperware boxes in the country - she was a bit sceptical at first but we've had some good walks, the junior RTB's enjoy it and she is surprisingly good at discovering the treasure.
TB's the jury is still out but at least Rufty Tufty Bear has made it out of the country (my sisters baby may be "of age" before it gets to NZ though.
Virtual TB's Mrs RTB is never going to understand that (not sure I do!!)!

Well done Stoney for beating me to the 100 mark.

In this part of Wiltshire it is unusual for a new cache to last the day...
Usually Stonefisk gets out there and bags it before the rest of us have realised a cache is live.
-
Ah but with a bit on velcro the GPSr can become hands free. See the picture on
Stonefisks blog. I presume that this would make the use legal???
I haven't managed to get this to work for me yet as I can't find double sided sticky tape that will hold it.
Appologies if this link doesn't work but its the first time I've tried to insert one - in any case you want his October 31st blog entry.

Not sure where this is going but, for those who have children here is something to make you chuckle:
GOD CREATED CHILDREN
Whenever your children are out of control, you can take comfort from the thought that even God's omnipotence did not extend to His own children.
After creating heaven and earth, God created Adam and Eve and the first thing he said was "DON'T!"
"Don't what?" Adam replied.
"Don't eat the forbidden fruit." God said.
"Forbidden fruit? We have forbidden fruit? Hey Eve, we have forbidden fruit!!!!!"
"No Way!"
"Yes way!"
"Do NOT eat the fruit!" said God.
"Why?"
"Because I am your Father and I said so!" God replied, wondering why He hadn't stopped creation after making the elephants. A few minutes later, God saw His children having an apple break and He was ticked!
"Didn't I tell you not to eat the fruit?" God asked.
"Uh huh," Adam replied.
"Then why did you?" said the Father.
"I don't know," said Eve.
"She started it!" Adam said
"Did not!"
"Did too!"
"DID NOT!"
Having had it with the two of them, God's punishment was that Adam and Eve should have children of their own.
Thus the pattern was set and it has never changed

I know this was mentioned some time ago and there was some debate, but
In answer to the question "How can I check the speedometer on my Volvo V70?" the Sunday Times recomend "The easiest way to get an accurate check is with a GPS portable sat nav unit, which have speed read-outs and are totally accurate."

Can't help identifying with sentiments of this thread - No colds in the house allowed, but Mrs Ruft Tufty keeps muttering about the bathroom needing decorating.
Apparently I promissed to get it done by Christmas, but Stonefisk keeps getting ahead of us in caches found and 100 seems reachable now....

Surprised I haven't heard of this in the media though - that is the way of changing things, shame them into it.

We've got a Fellowes FXL95, and you don't need a carrier - although one was supplied with it. Important to get the temperature right. I set it at the lowest for each batch of pouches and gradually turn it up until it seals correctly. HAven't tried to do anythin smaller than A$ but don't see why it wouldn't.

Also hit one year today. Thanks to all those who have set the caches I have found or failed to find. I can honestly say I have enjoyed them all, especially those that have broken up journeys to some very boring business meetings - I almost look forward to them now.
Special thanks to The Wombles and Gowenhouse for those around Wiltshire, and Stonefisk even if you seem to have gone to sleep!!!
Favourite cache Wildlife Reserve (Wiltshire) - not only a great location but an early morning walking and talking with my 9 year old son in misty sunshine - it doesn't get much better.
Onward to 100 now just to confirm to Mrs Rufty Tufty that the madness won't go away.....
Amazing Garmin Service!
in United Kingdom and Ireland
Posted
I have recently recieved a new unit from Garmin after suffering the same problems as Stuey. Just when I was about to phone them to ask for the cost of repair there was a parcel on the doorstep.
We should sent a link to these messages so they understand their good Customer Service is appreciated.
