  1. well i can't get into the forums... i think it's the web site... not that he hates us... but out of cuiriosity, RobertM Is it just the forums? or is it the actual website also? I find it odd that they would ban you... and personaly i think it's a pile O' bull a poopay... Maybe i'm not filled in on some piece of puzzle... but who knows? i'll leave it at this untill i' find out the Remaining...
  2. 60000$ SUV? screw that dude.... i walk wherever i cache... weekends... up at 7... leave for caching... back at 7... Also... to increase range... take bus/public transit, around the lower mainland and walk from the closest point for a series of caches... that's a whole 1.50 for us youth... maybe 3 bucks for you older folks.... and sure the only reason i really do this is because i have no job to get money to buy a car....but what can ya do... ? lol ...
  3. Well, i live in the Greater vancouver area, (Port coquitlam) i'll be more then happy to show you the ropes... i'm still learning a few as it is... i have 24 finds... unless of course your looking for "A lady... " to "teach you the ropes" of geocaching.. Lol whicever, i'm always free... not like i have a life or somthing...
  4. I believe my favourte has been "Eagle Ridge" Which is a nice 2 hour hike up to a spectacular view.
  5. I Bought my two pairs of snowshoes (atlas...can't remember model...(They are downstairs... Lazy..etc) )... At Sports Check at the end of the winter last year for a very awesome deal, i beleive they were originaly 240 bucks each pair, but we got them for 160 each. They do the trick very well. The key is to always be on the lookout, near the end of the seasons. Alot of stores want to get rid of the older models. And if you'r in the right place at the right time, with some good barganing skills You just might make that "steal" lol. That and mountain equipment coop rocks... Coast mountain sports is good also, excelnt service.. you wont be able to walk around without being asked 50 times "if you need any help" .. heh. though Coast mountain is far too pricey. all that service costs i guess....
  6. Yup, awesome fun i must say. Thanks SylvrStorm, and everyone who helped contribute idea's..etc... P.S. Did anyone find my black(ish) toque? I lost it somewhere... in my mad dash attempt to Catch up to my ride home... lol
  7. Heh, i'm guessing most people have already left for The event... Not me! ha, It takes 15 min to get there... from here... anyway... to the point... It's 30 min till the cache... is anyone else Getting snowed on right now!!! i live in poco.. and it's snowing... i'm guessing it'll be snowing around Belcara... Irony... i think so. Coincidence? i think not... I wonder if this is going to damper the numbers? Sweet!
  8. Count me in for everything...wait let me check my new "2004 agenda" ...yes.. mmhmm... well looks like i'm open mon-sun... for the next three years... yea... Thought so...

    Christmas 2003

Heh, well after getting my X-mas present early, it's not an E-trex... it's not even Garmin... I think Magellen bought out this brands company last month... or so i'm told. It's a french model..."MLR SP24" and i keep on holding it upside down because the buttons are above the LCD screen... and i'm used to the MeriGold with them under... It works like a charm... locks onto those satalites very well... Gonna give it a test cache today. all for only $160 brand new... aparently...it has a 36 hour baterie life. constant use... (it takes 4 bateries!) lol, what a neat little rig... WOO! no more begging to use my dads... score!

    Christmas 2003

Heh, i'm getting a new GPS from the fatherly figure, lol... i'm not sure which one though Though i'll probably still end up using his Meridian Gold.. lol
  14. Well, i'd be in for being a sidekick on this one. I have that rugged woodsman look goes well on the camera... Topics that need to be covered would be CITO and how geocaching does NOT harm the enviroment when done properly. Myabe it could take place in two sperate types of caches... urban cache... shows people how close it could be to their home... get more people into the sport... and then the rugged outdoors cache... with a little TV magic... all in under 10 min! wow.
  15. LOL! that's funny... hunkier then me... woo... that's great... first time i think i've heard that one... though i look like the "wild bushman who hasn't seen civilization in a few months"... i'll make sure to put some lead in my bag... am i allowed to start singing in front of the camera? like Some John Denver hits... Country roads... rockey mountain high... those are good songs
  16. Wow, Media coverage? So.... not only is there going to be 15 or so cachers.... there will be people .. watching us cache? heh that's crazy... how did they find out about the event cache? this looks like more of a geocaching convention now then an event cache heh... still should be fun
  17. Maybe that's what i've been doing wrong... feeding my Dog The medication... though i always wondered why my dog had more common sense then me... or somthing like that anyway...
  18. Yea... i'd hate to think that out of soo many cachers.. none of them would be "Common sense"-ly challenged... So... i took the effort into my own hands..

    Spacemen?

i wonder if there is a website with Alein Geo... or Solar... Caches... we could call it..."SolCaching"... though.. it sounds more like a sport the Grim Reaper would be into.. (huck huck)... (SoulCaching)... Get it?... good.... maybe they're not here to take caching away... but take it to a new level... Yea... sweet... heh
  20. LoL... it's my mountaineer bag... filled with all the goodies... .. (i was wieght training anyway)... 4 sweaters... 3 pairs of pants... 2 jackerts... sleeping bag.. suvival gear(too much to list)... medical kit... caching misc... GPS.. binoculars... 3 paris O' socks... Food... water... and a 6 pack of Pepsi... flashlights (3 of them) .. batteries.. Toilet paper... Long johns... Shirts... .. blah blah blah.. Lol... You get the idea... i didn't need 3/4 of the stuff i brought.. i just do it to get in shape... I'm a whacko.. we have decided this already... On a seccond note... on my recent trip this weekend back up to eagle ridge to put my trade items in.. i placed my cache on the oposite trail... "West Viewpoint".. This saturday there are a few people going for West viewpoint... and maybe Eagle ridge.. i'm just bringing it up here... instead of posting on the cache page.. Lol... who wants to come? I think we have 1.. or 2? extra pairs of Snowshoes availabe.. Camera's are required.. the view from westpoint... well wait and see... EGAD!
  21. Oh, Why thank you! as long as i have some generic suport though i must say... at least Those living in british columbia.. (well at least the lower mainland).. can cache during the winter... and not have to worry all too much about digging the cache out of 5 feet of snow.. ( at least not too often).. though we would definitly enjoy it..

    Altimeters

Well in my personal opinion... it's Preaty dadgum easy to adjust my watch to the right settings before leaving for a "trip"... i know my house is a whole 25 meters above ground.. which would translate (through trial and error) ... to be 3 M/bar above sealevels... so i just fiddle with it till it's right.. takes a whole 30 secconds.. It's about as easy as things get... Regarding accuracy... i havn't found it not accurate yet.. unless there is severe weather pattern changes...
  23. Heh... well that makes more sense... My headlamp is Hallogen... Though i wish it had a way to lock it... i've had to buy 3 batteries just because it turned on somehow in my pack... grrr... Moral of story... Is there any locations in the Tri-Cities area offering this wonderfull discount? ... or one similer... Bussing out to surrey.. or richmond is rarely fun...
  24. Well... in my personal preferance... i like my Headlamp rather then blazing the forest up bright as day... I have a petzel ....Honnestly i don't even remember the model... cost me 85 bucks though.. but it does last for 12 hours... (when i don't accidently leave it on in my pack... the bateries are non-rechargeable ... and cost 8 bucks each... but in case the headlamp fails... Always have my handy (and heavy) Maglight .. bright red... 8 pounds... and extreamly bright.. and for those hard to stick the big light in places... i got the maglight mini.. for all those tiny cache holes.. ... So who really wins here? ... probably not me.. lol i'll pick one up over the weekend...
