  6. Yay! We love evil micros (both the coins and the caches!)
  7. We received three more coins yesterday, but we have to work out a problem with one of them. We're just waiting on our last one from 3blindeyes, but it's traveling a LOOOONG way!
  8. I hope so fairyhoney! We have her magnet hanging on our fridge and I love it! I hope the coin comes about!
  9. hmmm, well, without the specifics of the situation, it's tough to answer this, but lemme give it a shot... -if the "thing" looks like it was removed/discarded on purpose, or is something that may have been removed by someone "official", replacing it could draw attention and be an issue. -if the "thing" looks like it was discarded accidentally, or done as a careless/destructive act, then replacing it probably won't be an issue -if the "thing" is in bad shape, and it's something that would be used by muggles (for example, a picnic table), putting it back might cause a problem if it falls apart while being used - to be safe, if you're not sure, you could always check with the local parks dept., or whoever maintains the park. Explain caching to them, explain that you found this "thing" disgarded nearby and wanted to replace it. And then ask if you can place a cache in/on it when you put it back. Use the explanation that cachers often help maintain/clean up parks and nature areas, mention CITO, etc... more than likely that they'll let you place it, and then you won't have to worry. ...on the other hand, if it's not expensive to place, you can just place it, and if someone takes it down again or it disappears-- oh well
  10. We have an Original Stash 7th aniversary coin that had an incorrect prefix: OP instead of the intended OS. We ordered 2 coins when they were available, and got one correct and one incorrect. We asked around a bit, but as much as anyone could tell, it was a one-coin error, not a whole minting of them. No, this has nothing to do with the topic of the 4 Elements coins, just wanted to share
  11. Oh yes...it's possible! It's strange how often you get the same participants...we've had times where our recepient was also our sender. Or we got coins from a cacher in one mission and had their name in the next. Glad you liked your coins!
  12. I know Groundspeak requires that geocoins be basically "flat" in shape, but is there any specific measurement that either Groundspeak or the mints won't let you exceed?
  13. We received a Birthday package in the over the weekend! Thanks so much Rivercity!
  14. We received our last White Elephant mission in the mail over the weekend! Thanks RiverCity!!! (sorry, we're slacking on taking photos)
  15. if you're looking to buy coins, you may want to check out Cointracking.com There's usually a pretty good selection of coins for sale there by individual cachers.
  16. not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet or not, but it's something we've learned from experience when trying to make and run PQ's for longer trips or large areas... make sure you plan out when you'll need to run each PQ to have that data available for your trip...since you can only run a few each day, make sure you spread them out to run over a few days, so you have each set of data when you need it, and don't get caught needing to run one, and you've already run your max number for that day. Take into account if you'll have internet access during your entire trip, only during certain parts, or not at all. Also, make sure you leave plenty of time for the PQ results to arrive--during busy times, it can take a few hours, which can cause problems if you're relying on internet at hotels, hot spots, etc. Also, double-check your PQ list to make sure you've turned off/unchecked any that you don't need to run--that way you free up as many spots as possible.
  17. i've heard that one before lol Man, talk about greedy. You got something that a lot of people in these forums will never see, and all you had to do was go to REI for a couple of hours. And you're all worked up over the placement of a few pixels or art on your profile? Geeze..... I willingly go to REI for a couple hours just for fun
  18. this might be the "brute strength" approach, but you could try getting a tree trunk/log a little larger than the tube, and hollowing it out. Then slide the tube down inside. You could even take a cut off of one end before you hollow it out, and then reattach that cut as a "lid", to provide camo to the opening.
  19. If this is what I think it is, they're usually sold as "dry boxes". In our experience with them though, they aren't very good at staying dry! They do have a latch like an ammo can, and an o-ring, but they don't seal nearly as tight, and because they're plastic, the sides tend to move/warp over time, which allows water to get in.
  20. We have all of our outgoing coins packaged and ready to go...so they'll go out in Monday's mail. So far, we received the Jersey Devil coin yesterday, and the copper RFJ today --both very cool looking coins!
  21. Wahoo! Two rainforest jewels, 3 Hector's dolphins, a red handed--lots of goodies! Only big one I'm missing is the earth turtle. Love the system. Chris had to explain the whole process to me over and over again, but I caught on and we made lots of great trades! Thanks so much moscow (even though we didn't get your personal! )
  22. Have you talked to the Wolverine Warriors yet, they might still have some. I sent him an email to contact you. Thanks 501Gang! We're working out a trade now, thanks to your help.
  23. Wait a minute, put on the brakes. Isn't one of your group a graduate of PENN STATE?? This is a day of heartbreak. If this is true....I....I.....I have to protest this trade. I can't even speak, I am so shocked at the thought that I Penn Stater would allow such a coin in their possession Actually, Lindsy and I are both Penn State grads! but as I said, I was a Wolverine fan long before I ever thought about college-- and I have a 17yr old Michigan Starter jacket to prove it! Woverine Warriors-- thanks for the email-- I'll be getting back to you shortly!
  24. Anyone have a Wolverine Warriors coin available for trade? We're from PA, but I've been a Maize & Blue fan since I was old enough to know what college football was, and I'd love to have a coin to show some Wolverine pride!
