And, BTW, I did indeed take Tag to Stockton today - but not for that Stockton lady. I was hoping the poor attorney who hasn't held poor Tag in an embrace since 2004 would have that priviledge. But alas, he DNF'd the attempt. I'd lay odds that OF will indeed find Tag if she elects to venture out. :)

    I smell a rat!

  2. Speaking of Fun... Who's going to join us at the MAC Gathering in two weeks? They've been telling me I just can't miss this one. :ninja: Anyone care to join me????

Sounds like it will be fun but it appears that we will not be going to this one...Just too busy right now. Keep-em' in-line for us will you Bill? :)

Do you all know if Kids go to these things? My son who is almost 7 so I was just curious. We were thinking about going......Greg

These gatherings tend to be family friendly and yes kids do come (at least until they get old enough to decide that dad's a real dork for doing this stuff!). Our last event was a Micky Grove park and there were lots of kids in attendance. Bring your son and have a good time.

  3. Motorgirl, a cacher who lived in Berkeley, was killed in a traffic accident on her motorcycle last night on 580 Westbound near the Livermore Ave. exit. She was organizing a picnic event on the Berkeley waterfront for Sunday, May 21st.

Check out www.thegba.net for more info.

Since there are many cachers with similar caching names, I wanted to correct this one. It is MOTOGRRL, not MOTORGIRL, and we are saddened by the news. Our prayers go out to her family and friends.

  4. how do I add a picture here? when I do it I get an error that says "Sorry, dynamic pages in the tags are not allowed" Greg

Adding a Picture to a Forum Post

    1. Your picture must be on the internet somewhere -- not on the hard drive. If you want to share a personal photo, but don't have web space, upload it to a cache log, cache page or your profile page.

    2. Copy the URL for the image so that it's in your clipboard.

    3. Compose your forum post. When you want to insert the image, click on the "Insert Image" button in the top "Code Buttons" section. It's the icon that looks like a photo of a tree.

    4. A dialog box will pop up, prompting you for the URL of the image. Paste the URL from your clipboard into the box (Ctrl-V = paste) and click "OK."

    5. Preview your post to make sure it works!

If you are having trouble, try practicing in the test thread that is pinned at the top of the "Getting Started" forum.

  5. Hey Ted, Isn't there some GeoLaws regarding 'Contributing to the delinquency of a minor'? The Half-Adult may be rather bright for her age... but her age may make this the GeoCrime of all times. At least in CVC. :D

Unfortunately, this geogang cares not for geolaws or even common geocourtesy. I say it's time for some geo vigilanteism. Any ideas?

  6. Here's a surprise... The Half-Adult steps in from stage left. Surprise me - not. :) The apple doesn't fall far from the tree! :o The picture is becoming rather crystal clear. We need to show these lawless vegabonds that CVC won't stand for this behavior.

I threw some coins one direction and a cache the other. Good luck! (don't worry, you don't have to get wet to find it.)

Wow, there is some really beautiful old stuff here! And a cache too! Had to be sneaky because the place is crawling with muggles. I'll hide it tomorrow. A of OF

Maybe we could just start a new tag?? humm..Bill what do you think? By the way its been going us honest cachers will never have a chance at it..lol...

Here, Here! Somebody just figure a way to keep the scoflaws from accessing the placement information for the new tag and we're all set!

  8. I'm not sure anyone really follows the progress of those cachers any more but I just logged my 700th find yesterday and feel like it was well chosen... Skullduggery II is a Ron Streeter cache. He is one of the CVC founders and a wonderful mentor to the sport of Geocaching.

Thanks to Ron (where ever you are)!

That's great Bill, and congratulations, but why didn't you get Spider Legs at the same time?

  9. Alright, this has gone too far. Tag is not the personal plaything of a select few local cachers! Tag was designed for all central valley cachers to enjoy. When it is taken out of the area/state/country by two or three cachers, it is to the detriment of the rest of the local caching community. If you are going to play with tag, please play by the rules. <_<

  10. Polliticing!?! OMG! It's not like I knew everyone there and they took my side because I'm a greatly honest person. Oh, no. They voted to convict because it was the right thing to do. Besides, they wanted to see what would happen next. :bad: Now I'm just waiting for some of those digital photo's to get developed and posted on the Gathering page as well as this forum.

I'm telling you, that was a blast of a gathering. As always, I didn't get to talk to a third of the people I wanted to chat with. Ted and Rosa stood at bay when they heard about the trial and Tim was laughing and snapping off pictures.

Ted and Rosa had a good time staying on the sidelines and watching the lynching er trial. It's been so long since TAG has been in Stockton that I couldn't get too excited about it. After all, it's not like he stole a white jeep travel bug! :o

  11. Anyone from the CVC area going to the GeoWoodstock event, or has anyone from the CVC been to a previous one?

I am just curious as to how it compares with some of the larger events out here.

I have a hard enough time getting to Modesto for a caching event, let alone Texas!

  12. Just a note: The March issue of "Highways" magazine, the official magazine of the Good Sam Club, has an article on Geocaching, called "Caching In". A very positive article, and it contains this quote: " In a nutshell, we're an eclectic group of people who share a few common traits that most of the general public doesn't have in like quantity. Most geocachers are above average in intelligence. They are creative. They generally have well-paying jobs. They share a love of computer hardware, gadgets and the outdoors." :D I think they must have been reading our forum! :D

  13. The RCGDS-CVC event will be here soon and this is to give everyone some info on this great event. On April 8th there will be a event in Lodi at Micky Grove Regional Park. I hope to have a very good showing of cachers. I can tell you that at the RCGDS events we get about 100 or so each time we have a event. The web page will be up soon and when it does go up please take a look for more info. Spread the word, invite people that don't read the forums. Send messages to the MAC group lets have some fun.

I hope to have a item that you can only get at the event unless I have extras at the end. This Event will be a meet and greet because we all know that the only numbers that count are the friends that you make.

    Thank You

    Richard of the GeoCrickets

:DB) Why, that's almost in Stockton! :P Count me in! :)B)
