  1. Previous version release notes Addressed issue where HTC devices were draining battery after exit from the app Added troubleshooting instructions in cases where login would fail due to date/time settings on the device Several other behind the scenes performance fixes Problems or ideas? 2. I must have missed something because I cannot find this on one of my own caches ... ? Looks like this fix didn't make it to the live site. We will investigate. (PS - the fix adds a new dropdown option for owners when logging the cache) This is now fixed.
  3. I've been looking at this as well and I don't understand the mechanism here. I looked at my local area and see that plenty of traditional/low difficulty/low terrain caches that have been found recently are not labeled as beginner caches, while others are. I also noticed that a nearby 2.5/3.5 cache was labelled as a beginner cache, while nearby caches with lower ratings were not. I'm curious regarding the underlying logic of this feature. This little tooltip explains the logic. It can be modified in the future if the results aren't what was expected.

  5. We have a winner! Hah! I had "Beta" in there at one point but I must have edited it out. I'll add that back.
  6. We took a stab at this issue over the last week but weren't happy with the way it was implemented so it was rolled back. We recognize it's a big complaint from Premium Members so we're going back to the drawing board with some other ideas. I hope to announce a fix for this very soon.
  7. After you connect your Twitter/Facebook accounts just uncheck the box in the settings that say "I log a cache on the website". This will give you the option of posting each time you submit a cache find log, but won't enable it by default.
  8. The site is currently being updated. Please find the latest release notes here.

  10. Update: Due to other projects taking priority recently, we are delaying the planned schema redesign until late September at the earliest. As promised I will provide a sample XSD for developers to review with plenty of lead time to make accommodations before the final version is made available for download on Geocaching.com. Thank you for your patience!

  12. A new update to the Geocaching for iPhone Application is now available in the iTunes Store. Previous version release notes Updates include: Fix to allow non-English characters to be sent in geocache logs Fix to allow multiple iPhones to connect with the app when using a shared "team" account across devices Increased default search radius to 35 miles from 10 miles We are currently investigating an issue users have reported regarding sending logs with photos attached, and hope to have a fix in place shortly. Many thanks to all geocachers who have provided feedback on User Voice. Happy Geocaching!
  13. This bug is related to the fact you are both using the same Geocaching.com account on two different iPhones. We are currently working on a solution to this issue. Please stand by!
  14. There are a couple reasons that you might see "No Geocaches Found" 1. You are near the Prime Meridian: If you search crosses the line at 00 longitude there is a bug where no results are returned. We are working on a solution that does not require a new update to the app, so this should be available very shortly. I suggest you use the advanced search and move your location slightly to get results. 2. Your search filter is too restrictive: If you hide your finds or other cache types, it is possible that no results will be returned within the default 10 mile radius. Expand your search criteria and try again. We plan to give you the option to expand your search radius when the error occurs so you don't have to back out and pick another location.
