  1. Is it possible to find the depth information of the obstruction? As far I rememer this is a stone and the depth is 1.8m. If you can't read this info out of the map this is a major flaw and must be corrected as soon as possible. I can't understand why the depth of obstructions are omitted from the map. This worked fine on my old 76S.
  2. Nice ... It's at Denmarks east coast. Will you take a screen shot at N56 42.423 E11 30.398 with zoom=300m? What's i'm looking for is obstructions and at this location there is a 1.8m obstruction. Obstructions like this is rare at Denmark's east coast, but quite frequently at the Norwegian coast (as you know ). And they are dangerous
  3. This was not a screen shot from the Colorado. It was cut and paste in MS Paint (I wrote that in the head of the picture). It is on my wish list ... so I'm sorry, right-click and save is the only option
  4. Like this (made with MsPaint ) ! And I want icons not only for Geocaches - will be nice to have for Waypoints and POIs as well.
  5. I have really tried hard to reproduce this error, but it seems to work OK now. At the point I did this tests I had 2300 geocaches loaded. Is it any overflow condition? Yesterday I tried to reload 2300 geocaches to the GXP area, but the compass works OK. I know I used Colorado firmware 2.3 during the tests, but I can't remember if I had updated the GPS software to 2.6. Is it possible that this was fixed with the GPS-software? Another explanation it that the unit performed a software/hardware reset when I tried to drown it.
  6. It's a serious bug on the compass page. I'm running ver 2.30. I have selected a waypoint and navigate to this point. The compass setting is automatic. The waypoints position is N 59° 43.220' E010° 49.793' The data fields are correct they show bearing 183° and 14 km, however the red arrow points to about 30°. The speed is 0 km/h, I switched to map menu and back to compass page. It's no red arrow at all. Press options and select Course poitner. This seems good. Switch back to Bearing pointer. The bearing is still 183° but the pointer shows NW (or ca 310°). The GPS was heading in the same direction for all images. The red arrow seems to show a direction in random. I reported this problem to Garmin support and this is the answer: "Thank you for contacting Garmin(Europe)Ltd. This would appear to be a software related issue, i would adivse that you go to www.garmin.com/webupdater with your GPS connected to your computer and download and run the webudpater, this should update the software and is likely to resolve the problem. " Since I also reported SW ver 2.3 this answer doesn't give any help.
  7. Well, when I’m sailing I’m used to mount my GPS on the steering consol. It’s exposed to rain and splashing water. In heavy sea hundreds of liters of water will hit the unit during the voyage. If the unit is not 100% water proof the salt water will damage the electronics. So I know that if the unit drowns in a glass of water, I can forget to use it on sea. I think it’s a good idea to test the unit before I expose it to the North Sea (and my previous GPS’ had no problems with a glass of water, nor heavy weather).
  8. I did also drown my Colorado 300. A few days ago on the "Stammtisch Oslo" event I demonstrated my Colorado 300. I wanted to show that it was waterproof, put the Colorado in an empty glass and filled it with water. Oh, yes I was sure the unit was properly closed. After 10 sec someone noticed air bubbles coming from the battery compartment. I pulled out the Colorado but it was too late. The unit was full of water, not only in the battery compartment, but we could also see a few mm water level in the display. Well, my Colorado has a new nickname "bathing duck", and after three days it has began to work again. Time will show if the display will be 100% ok. The biggest surprise was that it seems to be openings between the battery compartment and the electronics. My conclusion is that this unit is not IPX7 waterproof.
