  1. If you are using adblock or adblock plus add the following line to the adblock/adblock plus filter list: @@www.geocaching.com/seek This whitelists "www.geocaching.com/seek" and will allow the caches to be viewed. Edit for clarity and spelling
  2. Well I have been looking for a better hat for caching. I love my boonie hats but they just don't have enough ventilation. So after reading the rave reviews and looking at the Tilley website I went to REI and bought a Tilley LTM6 in the khaki/olive color combination. While I was there I also picked up a pair of Keen Targhees' in the Shadow color for caching. Thanks everyone for the awesome recommendations.

    Unstable Pqs

I think what he means is that scheduled PQ's have not run on schedule for a couple of days. I am missing 2 one last ran on the 30th and the other on the 31st.
  4. I have not received mine either. 5/30/2006 11:09:43 AM 5/30/2006 2:04:40 PM 5/31/2006 7:09:50 AM 5/31/2006 11:39:05 AM
  5. You can try gpsbabel. I use it on winders and have not tried it yet on my linux box. See garmin format specifc info here. You would still need something like GSAK for cache management. I have not tried GSAK under linux using wine. I have not tried running mapsource under linux using wine. Looks like a couple more things to add to my list of things to try. I feel your pain, I am wanting to switch all of my PC's to linux but there are a few things out there I still need winders for.
  6. The only information that I was able to track down was this: http://www.garmin.com/cartography/mapSourc...andwaypoint.jsp Unfortunately it looks like it is purchase only. You may want to try and call them at 1-800-800-1020 and see if they can do anything to help you out. Sorry didn't realize you found that already. That is what I get for taking a phone call while I was replying to your post.
  7. IF you have the adblock extension installed check the preferences. Tools > Adblock > Preferences That is one way to cause images and the like to not be displayed. You can always restart Firefox in Safe Mode and see if the problem goes away. Start > All Programs > Mozilla Firefox > Mozilla Firefox(Safe Mode) There are other extensions that can do the same thing.
  8. I fixed this on one my Legends using the following instructions. Here is the link to fixit instructions: http://home.triad.rr.com/ralloh/Vista%20LED%20Repair.pdf I found it in this thread: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=59009
  9. We went from a Legend to a 76C. We are 100% happy with our purchase. We still carry the Legend as backup and just for the fun of it.
  10. Thank you for the fast fix. I will close this thread now.
  11. This concerns the following cache: GCK6YQ In the source for the HTML for this cache the following renders an image: <IMG SRC="http://img. photobucket.com/albums/v631/GPSaxophone/campsitemap.jpg"> In the associated gpx file that is downloaded from this page the same information looks like this: <IMG SRC=http://img. photobucket.com/albums/v631/GPSaxophone/campsitemap.jpg"&gt The opening " is missing between the = and http that renders this image broken in the GSAK preview window and causes an error message when running Sunrise Desktop against the HTML that is generated by GSAK. I intentionally added the space in the URI so that the forums did not turn it into a link. Just figured I give the PTB a heads up on this.
  12. Ximage works just fine with my Non-color Legend.
  13. I found a Palm m500 on ebay for $20. It is working great for me.
  14. 7.2 miles for 100 active/non-archived caches.
  15. My daily 3 PQ's have not run since 3/2 @ 8:40p. My one weekly PQ came through this morning after I resubmitted it. I tried resubmitting my daily 3 PQ's but that didn't help.
  16. I have 256MB SD card in my m500 that I use to store my Cachemate files on. I gave up on using the hotsync option to get the files to the card. I bought a cheap USB 9in1 card reader/writer. Now I plug the card in and drag-n-drop the cachemate files to the /PALM/LAUNCHER/ directory on the card. I put the card back in the m500 fire up Cachemate, it will say the data on the card has changed and I then re-import the files. The only part of Cachemate I have installed in the m500's internal memory is the Cachemate application itself.
  17. My wife uses an etrex Legend, the kids use an etrex Legend, and I use a 76C. My wife refuses to use the 76C she says it big bulky for her. I love the 76C because it has a connection for an external antenna. We started with a Magellen Pioneer but quickly outgrew it.
  18. Thanks for the heads up. I upgraded the Legend my wife carries and the Legend that the kids share.
  19. Yes, this is definitely scheduled for the next release, 5.2 This feature will allow you to interrogate (by subject line) a pop3 server and download emails and automatically extract the attachments to a given folder. You will also have the option to leave the mail on the server or to delete it. This will be fully supported in the macro language, so you will then be able to do the lot from within a GSAK macro. Thank you Clyde that is the last step needed by many of us to create a completely automated process.
  20. I use an extension called 'Attachment Extractor' that I use to save all of my PQ's at the same time. I run Thunderbird 1.0. From what Clyde has mentioned in other posts he will be including a POP3 email client in a future version GSAK that can be setup to download PQ's from your email server.
  21. Hmm, are you sure it is not W3C compliant? I ran it through the validator at http://validator.w3.org and it did not pick this up as being invalid. It did however, pick up that <a name="#Group20"> does not have the corresponding </a> tag to finish it off. I get the feeling that is the real problem rather than the name beginning with a #. Could you please confirm or otherwise by changing <a name="#Group20"> to <a name="#Group30"></a> and let me know if this does fix the problem. I guess there is no reall issue in removing the #, but that does not explain why the validator does not see this as being a problem. Clyde, Completing the <a name> element with </a> did not correct the problem. Removing the # does fix the problem. What Firefox is looking for is a fragment identifier named 'Group20'. The fragment identifer in the generated code is '#Group20'. I can get '#Group20' to work if I change the < href tag to this: <a href="##Group20">. So I guess saying it was not compliant was not accurate becasue the validator does not look for non-existant links. Here is some info on fragment identifiersI found it at http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40/intro/intr...ml#fragment-uri
  22. Clyde, I love the program thanks for the awesome job. I have found a small problem that I have detailed below. <a name="#Group20"> ^-----Please remove this # This is a snippet from the html generated by GSAK that causes problems with some web browsers. In the above code could you please remove the # in the name tag declaration. It is not W3C compliant and causes problems with standards compliant browsers such as Firefox. If you remove the # the tag becomes compliant and works with Firefox. IE ignores the # if it is there but still works with it removed. Thanks, Tim EDIT: I am running 5.1.1 Build 14
  23. To manually enter waypoints on your Geko 201 look at page 11 of your manual for the instructions. Here is the link to the Geko 201 manual: http://www.garmin.com/manuals/Geko201_OwnersManual.pdf
  24. Hoversnap works very well for capturing screen shots or just the desired portions of the screen you want to save. You can find it a little over halfway down the page at this URL: http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm
