  1. Ok cool. now I can approve it. Thanks for the fast reply!
  2. I have a weird thing with my c.c./debit where I have to call the bank if i want to purchase stuff over the internet (Its a pain in the a** but it ensures that its me buying stuff not someone who get hold of my numbers) After going through the whole upgrading process, I called my bank to confirm the purchase. The nice lady on the other end asked me if my purchase was for $40.60some-odd cents. Not 29.99 as it says on the site. I put it on hold until I can confirm from you guys. Just wondering if the memberships are $29.99USD? I did select the correct country (Canada). Thanks in advance. NF
  3. good plug for us. its always enjoyable seeing how newspapers and such describe caching from a muggles point of view. logger, BQ. cheers boys! nothingface
  4. alot of helpful tips from everyone. going on jeep.com i found that if i click on the coordinate translator link i can actually enter co-ords in and itll translate it for me into several other types of map datum. and i dont have to open up another program or scribble a bunch of equations down on paper (i am, you can say, mathematically retarded). thanx everyone nothingface
  5. well now, on to the problem of converting them. iknow i could use jeep.com for 99% of them but i havnt figured out how to enter in a way point on the site. nothingface
  6. does anyone know of a mapping program for your computer which is; 1. free and 2. allows you to punch a co-ord and itll show you where it is on the map. id relly like to get my hands on it and im guessing so would others. nothingface
  7. hmmmmm. hunters usually wait until they know they have a good clean shot on the animal. so, either he/she heard it coming and shot at first sight or shot it purposely. im thinking the hunter waited until they just saw the outline of the pooch and fired. if thats the case they're no hunter, more like someone just smart enough to pass the firearms course and is excited to be allowed to shoot stuff. unless it was a great dane a dog is significantly smaller than anything you could hunt. people like that should make sure they know how to hunt before doing so. incidents like this are going to unlitmatly have the government issue mandatory hunting courses for everyone with a firearm. idiots. theres my 2 cents, folks nothingface

has anyone ever thought of putting a type of "buddy" list of geocachers cell#'s together. now, ive seen numerous times of people talking about giving soandso a call on their cell for a hint or a heads up on a cache, and was wondering if everyone would be willing to do somthing like this. ill start it off nothingface: Rob=905-923-9816 (cell) if you like the idea, feel free to add. if not tell me its dumb.

  11. ive had my venture for some time now and despite abusing the crap out of it (unintentionally ofcourse) it works like the day i bought it. by the way, i was at the hamilton airport goin to the timmys and saw a big garmin sign with the words sales and service under it. i havnt checked it out yet. anyone else heard of this? or is it the place that everyone talks bad about? nothingface
  12. thats a good idea jeep. i wonder if that is allowed. unfortunatly i sent him on his way today. hes in my cache because i only had a half hour free today so someone has to come and get him asap please. im feeling a little bad about all of this. nothinface
  13. man!!!! ive been wat too busy to even think about caching but this weekend im gonna send him on his way. once again im sorry for the hold up. maybe i should restrict myself from moving tbs for a while. that would be a good idea. ive moved a few and never had this much trouble getting one on its way before. speaking of nigel, im holding him as i type this. cute little bugger isnt he? nothingface.
  14. crap crap crap crap. hell be on his way this weekend. ive been so busy lately that i havnt (god forbid) even thought of caching. once again im sorry and ill get to it asap, maybe even tomorrow night.
  15. in my opinion, right towards the end of the spring thaw is the best time to hide a cache. mainly due to the fact that there is a minimal growth of flora at this time. if your able to hide your cache good then, just think on how all the foliage will help you conceal it further. but with the soft ground at the end of the thaw it is easy to stamp down and kill any grasses and small plants around the cache area that will grow once the weather warms, so you have o be careful. nothingface.
  16. my cache took 3 days to get approved. id say you can start to get impatient after about a week.
  17. crappy t has dropped the price of the 60c to $599. ive heard nothing but good things about this unit. the only thing missing from it compared to the 60 cs is the electronic compass and a barametric altimiter. hope i spelled that right. nothingface
  18. id have to say my first cache i found is still my favoriate Emma beans "better than bad its good ' this being my first cache it took me 3 attempts to find this one and it almost discouraged me from geocaching all together. but when i found it....what a cool feeling. i still get that feeling today. too bad most of emmas caches were archived. emma was the one really who got my mind racing on how to hide caches in the "non-traditional" way. one of the main inspriations when Admiral Byrd and i hid "Soldiers cache". nothingface

  20. i started marking off the tims in hamilton and got to about 35 or so (theres about 70+ all togrther in hamilton area) and some weiner decided to play with my gps and erase everything. not a big deal but alot of work. havnt started on it again yet but im planning to soon. nothingface
  21. any surplus store will have mock and real tactical vests from various countries. world famous makes a nice "hippie sack" which can be purchased in an array of manly colours so it would not be mistaken for a purse. you might look and feel like a bit of a knob but you can also consider military webbing which can be configured to fit the type of cache and hike. or you can suck it up and organize your pack. Admiral Byrd and i both use a pack from MEC called the jet ranger which works wikkid for caching. even has a pouch on the back support for your platti or camelback. for those of you new to the sport and the outdoors in general, MEC is Mountain Equipment Co-op. fabulous place to buy caching and outdoor crap. (if you want to brave the downtown Toronto traffic) nothingface

  24. no word of a lie when Admiral Byrd and i went to california with the A&SHofC (Argylls) i had a woman convinced that we all drive ski-doos to work and the people on welfare (i had to resort to calling it "social assistance" for her) still used dog teams. she honestly believed me until i started laughing (should of just walked away). but my most memorable experience of that trip was a marine saying, after we (argyll pipe and drum band), drank 2 taps of promo american "scottish" beer dry. "MAN!, Y'ALL CANADIANS CAN DRINK!!!!" lol yanks are funny nothingface
