    Maps

Jeremy, I appreciate all you do for this website as I'm sure many of the non-premi members do. Please dont let the few spoil it the rest of us. I never used the maps, GSAK and USA photomaps did the tricks for me that I needed. For a site like Geocaching.com to operate so smoothly with all the traffic it recives boggles the mind. I wish to THANK-YOU for the late nights and many hours you put into the site. Thanks again!
  2. When you first submit a new cache page with a link to another site it comes up as (visit link) until you edit the page then it posts the full http address. What am I doing wrong and how can I fix it?
  3. Its not too hard to figure how is kidding on the finds, expcially if you have done them an know the hiking times and driving times. Some of these just dont compute when you sit down and figure it out. Then they dont sign the logs and in their records dont give any hints as to what was there or about. Some of these people should spend more time caching and less time researching the posts.
  4. Heck, I lose my way long before I have a chance to lose my GPSR. But at the cache, its the first thing I check for before I leave, the next is my Pooh stamp'n kit. Now where did I leave that beer?
  5. My company announced that my last day is 5/4/04. My question is can I make money with what little caching skills I have?? Any ideas??
  6. I'm getting this one also along with server stack errors and a few others.
  7. If the cache is in a muggle infested area and you can conceal the cache under your coat or sumtin(kool-aid containers ect), go for it, but please dont put a 50cal ammo can at a spot where 6 joggers, 4 dogs and 5 kids on mountain bikes come by every 3 minutes!
  8. Here is a virtiual cache that is a hauntingly cursed Witch's Leg
  9. It is nice to know, how big the honey pot is, that is, that I am looking for in the hundred acre wood!
  10. I recived my rebate (first week of Jan.) after waiting about 11 weeks. Wheresmyrebate. com showed it as being accepted for the longest time, after reciving it, I checked the site again and they showed it as mailed. I too was wondering if I was getting ripped off but Magellan pulled through for me. Thanks!
  11. 1. Merigold with 32meg sd card and mapsend topo 2. print out all my cache stuff and hints 3. NO because I am happy with what I have
  12. My Merigold is so accurate that I usually am standing on top of the cache and looking all around for it. I use the compass screen to lead me in to the cache watching the feet count down. I havnt had any problems with mine. Perhaps you got a bogus reciever that needs to be recalibrated or something. I would contact customer service with your problems and run it by someone there.
  13. Pooh, because I am Pooh shaped (so my daughter says) and friends: Piglet(daughter age 8), Christopher Robin(son age 16), Kanga (the wife), Eore (our 6yo golden retriver Belle), and lastly Tigger (our 7 month old golden retriver Brandy) who bounces around all the time.
  14. I have wandered around aimlessly in the dark too. Did one just a week or two ago. I find that safety glasses worn while in the woods will save you from a scratched cornea. Though I am new to geocaching, I have extensive experence doing the night time navagation both above and below treeline. Things that go bump in the night are looking at the gps instead of where they are walking.
  15. My daughter likes to go but then my son likes it too. But I really like the peace and quiet of going by my self sometimes. I also like to cache at night. It makes it more fun when things go bump in the darkness and your headlamp just wont reach out to where you heard it.
  16. Yep this sure would be better than going back over the past logs to see when it was first missed. Why is this being ignored by Groundspeak? They can archive a cache quick enough, so mia bugs cant be that hard to take care of. Happy Hunting!
  17. Troop 68 Millinocket, Maine Star OA Brotherhood 2 year staff member at Katahdin Scout Resevation Explorers (sponsered by Maine Forest Service) Had lots of fun and learned alot. Will never forget all the times spent at Abol
  18. Troop 68 Millinocket, Maine in the mid 70's Star OA Brotherhood 2 year employee of Katahdin Scout Reservation Moved on to Explorers sponsered by the Maine Forest Service Had lots of fun and learned a lot. Will never forget all the times spent at Abol
  19. I've known about terraserver for a while but this is great! Hoorray The hundred acre wood from the air, just like owl sees it! Thank-you!
  20. I recieved every thing I ordered. All in perfect condition. Mapsend is the current version and all works like a dream. Thanks for your help everyone
  21. How about a Hava-Heart cashe...bait it with peanut butter. See what you catch and record it in the log book. The finder lets the little critter loose, and rebaits the trap for the next casher. Only place these caches in high traffic areas. These caches should be limited to mice while others may be large enough to allow a grizzly to be caught. Cashe on dudes!
  22. If the critter in the cashe cries at night and no one is around to here it, does it make a sound? Yup, a hampster in a cashe is a coyote treat up here in Maine. Good Luck on this one!
  23. arrghhhhh http://www.pumpkinvalleyfarm.com/cornfieldmaze.html
  24. Can I download SMALL (47kb) sized maps to a Meri-Gold with a 128mb card installed in it without using a card read/writer. I ordered a 36mb card and the company sent me a 128mb. Using Topo 4.20 with Ver 4.06 firmware. Mapsend Topo says I dont have enough memory.
