  1. These are the steps that I take. I open a folder onto my desktop. From the search page I download the gpx file to the folder on the desktop. From GSAK I click on FIle and then load gpx/loc On the next screen you will click on the little folder on the right, and then choose the GSAK file you wish to place in your GSAK the click OK. I hope that helps.
  2. On the satellite acquiring page it shows that there is a position bug which indicates you direction of movement around the satellites. I am not able to see this position bug on my GPSMap 60C even though the manual states it should be there. Is there something I do not have activated that I am not aware of? Not that it is big deal, but just like have all the features I can get. Thanks
  3. I noticed that if I downloaded a cache from the Garmin website I got the same lack of info on GSAK. When I saved a gpx. file from the gc.com and then downloaded it to GSAK I got all the info. Hope that helps.
  4. If you get to the point where you may piece it out. I may be interested in the City Nav program. Thanks, Miller Family
  5. I would like to thank everyone for all your suggestions. I ended up using the GSAK, and all appears to be operating well. Thanks, The Miller Family
  6. OK I am going to revive this question. I found where you can download GC from the Garmin website, but I also found out that it does not show all of them. My question was how do I load a gpx file onto my GPS.
  7. Sorry I jumped the gun a little bit. I just figured it out. By going to the Garmin website, and using MyGarmin you access the GC area and download. Thanks
  8. Old Magellan user here. I can't seem to figure out how to download gpx files from gc.com onto my GPSMap 60C. Can anyone give me some guidance. Thanks

  10. So do you have a new bottom dollar on this unit. I have an explorist 500 that I would have to try and sell so I can upgrade. Thanks Miller Family
  11. 3 GPSr's + 2 XM Radio's = Satellite Addiction
  12. Thanks for the replies. I have just been noticing that my compass seems to lag a little when moving. I was just not sure it that had something to do with this or it just may be a evil trick my mind is playing on me. Thanks, The Miller Family
  13. Was just wondering what opinions where on whether to set the GPSr to True North or Magnetic North, and which one you feel is more accurate. I have a Magellan Explorist 500 so electronic compass is not an option. Thanks, The Miller Family
  14. I too have found some really good deals on ebay, and have had great experience with all of the people I have both bought from and sold to. (Knock on Wood) Miller Family
  15. Just wanted to let everyone know that piston26 is good on his word and work. Just received my decals in the mail and they look great. He had them out to me in a hurry. Thanks Phil Kevin The Miller Family
  16. So how much am I looking at for 2 of them?
  17. As a past president and current vice president of our local FOP Lodge (Fraternal Order of Police), we are always looking for ways to donate to our local community programs that benefit kids. If you have an active FOP lodge in your area you might check with them for a small donation to get you up and running. I think you could also check with your local Wal-marts and other chains to see if they have any community money to give away. I have 2 Walmarts in my community and was able to get $500.00 from each to put together emergency packs for my teachers at the school I am currently assigned to. Just a couple of ideas, Good Luck The Miller Family
  18. Well folks all I have to say is PAY IT FORWARD. I was in need of a different map disc for my GPS and placed a wanted add on this forum thinking that it did not hurt to ask. With in a short time period a gentleman sent me a message stating that he would just give me the $100.00 program that I was in need of. Within a couple days I had the program in hand. That very same day I read an email from a man who was wanting to purchase the map program that I no longer needed (was for a model of gps that I sold). Begin worth about $60.00 I PAID IT FORWARD, a concept that I learned by watching the movie (Pay It Forward). Both me and the gentleman I sent the disc to were extremely happy and he too said that he would Pay It Forward. I understand your reluctance to help out Deafhunt. In my current assignment I am assigned to a large middle school. In that middle school I have the PLEASURE of dealing with students who are special needs kids. I often stop by these classrooms to say hi, and hang out for awhile. There is a special needs student who stops by my office everyday to just say hi, and check out my talking cookie jar. My face lights up, and my perspective on life changes everyday he does. In being around these students I hear their voices in the way the Deafhunt writes in this thread. Deafhunt: I wish I was able to help you at this time, however I cannot. I see that you are asking the Lord for some help. My kids and I can offer you a prayer tonight, that he might answer yours. Good Luck. Let us all be thankful for ours, and our childrens health. The Miller Family
