  1. Wow! What a lovely coin. It is great how it all moves.
  2. Involved in Scouting in Australia (slightly different sections) from when I was 6 to 14. Then gave up because the troop wasn't too good anymore. Still wish I could have continued for longer.
  3. Always a good method. Especially when I cache after work and I am wandering around in my work shirt for a known local surveying company. People rarely question it. Especially if I add a tape measure to the look =P Though people have very little idea about surveyors anyway. I have lost count of how many people have asked me whether I am 'taking photos' using the theodolite in the last six months.
  4. The longest stretch I have cached for was 5 hours and I got 19. Unfortunately I missed out on some close ones to my route as I forgot to upload them =P At the moment I like to do a few when I go out as it is so much effort to drive into the city (and of course, the price of petrol). Also with uni it is easier to do a few hours of caching full on than to go out every now and then to get only one.
  5. As I tend to cache a lot in the city, my trusty Gemini Panelvan. Cheap enough for a uni student to own, brilliant fuel consumption around town, small enough to park unobtrusively in random places. For the caches with harder tracks I occasionaly have to actually borrow my Dad's old Jeep Cherokee. However, that said I can get my Gemini into some off places (and get her out again )
  6. At 17 I was out hiking and camping heaps, even though I didn't have my license. Now at 19 I have started geocaching and it is much more fun getting out and about than hanging around inside all day. Who cares what is cool? Having fun is much more important.
  7. I am a surveyor and while I haven't used a tripod, I have walked around the main park in town in my surveying work shirt, clipboard and was measuring the bridge I was hunting around. People didn't look twice at me, as surveyors appear in the most random of places doing random stuff. I also had another one where I was looking around the local suspension bridge and so I wrote notes on my clipboard and told people I was studying Engineering and doing a project on bridge design...
