  4. They're called child locks too, but I get them online.
  5. My son built a hidden compartment shelf that uses one of these magnetic latches. It works really well. I built one with the tot lock idea. It's a built like a mini church, right outside the church that it looks like. It's great because it can hold large containers.
  6. I love building gadget caches. I've built 3 based off WVTim. Need some new ideas and I like caches that fit small or medium containers. After the trapdoor one I'm building I'm thinking about doing a visible wood (big version of a door lock) gadget cache. I've done the WVTim marble cache, battery powered and I've built my own mini church (my own idea)
  7. I love the trails part of the geocaching app, and there are lots of trails on here that I know about and didn't know about. But does anyone know if there is a way to have them add trails? I ask this because I'd like to see more of my local trails on here for cachers not familiar with the area.
  8. Here are some of my scout themed geocoins- http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// For sale??
  9. Any scouting related geocoin that interests me, BSA created or not. Really anything Boy Scout related We have still a Dutch Scouts Geocoin Looking for ones from America, but it would be kinda cool? How much is it?
  10. So the part people have to solve for my cache is a cryptogram, and it's more than just coords, so how should I go about doing that if I wanted to use geochecker? Just put coords in geochecker? Or is the a way to put the intire answer to the cryptogram?
  11. Any scouting related geocoin that interests me, BSA created or not. Really anything Boy Scout related
  12. I've found some mystery caches before and made one a while ago for my town, but recently I saw on twitter someones pet peeve was when mystery caches don't have coordinate checkers (mine doesn't). So I decided, why not, it's probably a good thing to have, but the process is kind of confusing to me. Obviously I know the cache name goes where it says cache name. But my cache puzzle is a cryptogram, so at the top where it says "using coordinates" am I supposed to set that as "using code secret"? Also where it says "secret code" lower, do I put my code in its cryptogram form or do I put it in its solved form? And lastly, what am I supposed to put where it says "GC----"?????.... Sorry I'm new to this
  13. I'm looking for really and Boy Scout related Geocoins out there. There are a bunch I would really like, but if you have any you'd sell reply or message me!
  14. I'm a teen, some of my friends geocache. Many don't really know what it is, so they just think I doing stuff outside. (Which I do a lot)
  15. Anyone have any vermont Geocoins they're selling or want to sell. Or possible New York Geocoins related to the Adirondack mountains? I just wanna know what's out there as well, so if you don't have anything related to the above, but know there are such things out there, feel free to comment.
  16. Ahh, thanks for the advise!! I'll do that now! Great idea!
  17. Alright, thanks for the advise. I guess I will try and hide the magnet on the cache because I really don't want people to not have a magnet with them (if they didn't read the description) and I've put a lot of time into this cache, so I'd rather try and keep my chances of someone messing with it to a minimum. Thanks. If anyone has any other suggestions or something they did, feel free to keep commenting because I've found all the comments helpful!
  18. I'm building a gadget cache that uses a child lock on the inside of the door. My design is building a mini church with a small cache inside. But I need some suggestions on how I should hide the magnet. My first idea was to hide the magnet inside the steeple of my cache (the steeple would be cut in two, and you'd flip open the top of the steeple and find the magnet). My worry with that is it'll be too easy, the magnet might get lost and it's hard to hollow out a big enough hole for the magnet in my steeple. So, what came to mind last night was, should I have the cache be one that needs a special tool (being the magnet)? It eliminates the easiness and chance of losing the magnet and is easier for me, but I'm asking you geocachers, would you or other cachers read the description to find out you need a magnet, or would some not read the description, show up to the cache and not be able to figure it out because they don't have a magnet. Anyone have an suggestions on which way I should go with this?
  19. Building a gadget cache that looks like the church I'm putting it next to.

  22. I've seen some older forum topics on people having coins minted by companies and then selling them somehow and raising money for there Boy Scout Troop to go on a trip. I was wondering if my Troop could do that since we're trying to raise money to go out west hiking and visit Yellowstone? But I have no idea where to start, could anyone that knows more about Geocoins, minting them or selling them give me a little explanation on how I could do that or give me a starting point because my Troop is pretty into geocaching and I'd be a fun way to raise money. Thanks for any help you can offer it's appreciated as I'm new to geocoins.
  23. I didn't receive anything in my messages?
