  1. Here's some stuff I've traded: mini deck of cards carabiners rain poncho keychain pretty colored note pads (ok so I'm a chick...lol) magnets plastic figurines bouncy balls Have fun!
  2. Nope you can upload them from your desktop directly to geocaching.com. It is actually very easy and they now can automatically resize the image for you so it isn't to large. The next time you are finished creating a log entry click the "Upload Image" link and you will be in good shape. Cool! Thanks!
  3. I thought I saw somewhere that you could only upload pics from a website, not your desktop. No website here.
  4. We have a 201. What is it you'd like to know?
  5. dhsundance, My kids don't go to your school but to PV. If you would like help or if there is a teacher at our school that you know of who would also like to do an outing, I'd be happy to lend myself and my GPS to the trip. LMK Merry Christmas!
  6. We have the 201 and so far, it has worked wonderfully. No problem tracking satellites under moderate tree cover or cloudy skies. We have also been amazed at how we're practically standing on the cache when the little man gets to the flag! Good luck!
  7. welcome 4deez! we are new to this also and are loving it! what part of san diego do you live? we are inland north county (thus PQ) and can now be found most saturday mornings ferreting around the nearby caches....perhaps we'll run into each other. i have no wisdom to share but just wanted to say hello! pqmommycacher
  8. i don't know of any near there but i didn't want you to think you were being ignored! hope you have a lovely time here!
  9. I bought the Garmin Geko 201 for ~120 on Amazon. We've only done a dozen or so caches but so far, it's been great! Good luck!
  10. Hi! I bought a GPS for my husband for his birthday. He likes to hike and our daughter loves treasure hunts. I was hoping he'd like the gift as it was a total surprise to him. Let me just say this: we did 8 caches our 1st weekend...I guess you could say it was a hit! I'm sure you will love it too! Happy Caching!
  11. FWIW, our church had a new clothing/school supplies/home supplies drive last night at the Halloween carnival. When I got there right as it started, there were already 2 ROOMS stuffed full of items. While it certainly doesn't begin to replace the precious items lost, it was a blessing just to see how much people care. BTW, Penasquitos Canyon was untouched and is open....92129 is the zip. TC!
  12. FlagMan and Bunthorne, I am so sorry.
  13. Hi! I am totally new to this sport, so new, in fact, I haven't even started. I bought a GPS for my hubby for his birthday in 2 weeks and I can't wait for us to get started. We have 2 small kids so we won't be doing any strenuous hiking for a long time, so if anyone has any recommendations for kid-friendly caches, I'd love to hear them. BTW, we live North County inland. Thanks!
  14. Thanks for the info, you guys are great! Can't wait to get started!
