  2. How are the Senior Sleuthes? They lived in that neighborhood in RB that was hit hard by the Witch Creek fire....

Their house is standing and they are fine. I believe the fire came right to their property but last I talked to Sally they hadn't been allowed back in to check on their trees, etc.

  3. That's a spinoff from another of my useful tips, to always Geocache with a partner or two and make sure that they walk ahead of you on the trails so's you don't get snake bit or step into a hole.

Even better is to have two partners. One to walk ahead and the other to cover any mountain lions attacking from the rear.

And remember to treat 'em well... <_<

Yes indeed, such as the two Geobabes and y' just have to treat them to a DQ Blizzard now and then.

    Y'all gonna die.....AGAIN

  4. :) What's a rebus puzzle cache? Dare I ask? r/ jl

Apparently, you have not paid proper "Homage to the Master"... ;):)

    Pronunciation: 'rE-b&s

    Function: noun

Etymology: Latin, by things, ablative plural of res thing -- more at REAL

Definition: a representation of words or syllables by pictures of objects or by symbols whose names resemble the intended words or syllables in sound ; also : a riddle made up of such pictures or symbols

 Nope..haven't done that puzzle yet...but thanks for the hint!!! I still have many TT Puzzles to solve. I was hoping that the people who adopted them would be more generous with the hints, but not so. ( Except you of course James). r/ jodi

I don't believe you've ever asked me. They don't call me mommy for nothing. I'll take you by the hand and lead you through, providing my aging brain can recall the way.

  5. I started the New Year with some Poison Oak. :D

What is the best stuff to buy as a treatment for it?

    Ha! Ha! :D:D:D

Oh, sorry, I use Tecnu. That seems to have worked pretty well when I got Poison Oak.

Tecnu works BEFORE (itch itch) you get it. I need (itch itch) to know (itch itch) what works the best AFTER you get it (itch itch)...

    A steriod shot...

Thanks, my neighbor got it really bad. So I'll tell him to go get a shot. He thinks he got it from petting Richard's dog which after it ran through a bunch of PO. I don't have it that bad to warrant going to the Doctor, so what is the best OTC solution?

    fingernails! :D

O, Christmas tree, O Christmas tree.....................

  7. After every flight, Qantas (Australia 's major airline) pilots fill out a form, called a "gripe sheet," which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The mechanics correct the problems, document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight. Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor. Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by Qantas' pilots (marked with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by maintenance engineers.

By the way, Qantas is the only major airline that has never, ever, had an accident.

P: Left inside main tire almost needs replacement.

S: Almost replaced left inside main tire.

P: Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough.

S: Auto-land not installed on this aircraft.

    P: Something loose in cockpit.

    S: Something tightened in cockpit.

    P: Dead bugs on windshield.

    S: Live bugs on back-order.

    P: Auto-pilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200 feet per

    minute descent.

S: Cannot reproduce problem on ground.

P: Evidence of leak on right main landing gear.

    S: Evidence removed.

    P: DME volume unbelievably loud.

S: DME volume set to more believable level.

P: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick.

S: That's what friction locks are for.

P: IFF inoperative in OFF mode.

S: IFF always inoperative in OFF mode.

    P: Suspected crack in windshield.

    S: Suspect you're right.

    P: Number 3 engine missing.

S: Engine found on right wing after brief search.

    P: Aircraft handles funny.

S: Aircraft warned to: straighten up, fly right, and be serious.

    P: Target radar hums.

S: Reprogrammed target radar with lyrics.

    P: Mouse in cockpit.

    S: Cat installed.

And the best one for last..................

P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer.

S: Took hammer away from midget.

  8. Nice geocaching article in this week's edition of The Rancho Bernardo News Journal. Looks like the online version lags the print version though as of this moment:

    http://mylocalnews.com/nws/

Lots of local interviews in it:

    Joanne and Dave Fender

    Pam Davis

    Bob Fritz

    Linda Carruthers

    Carol Zelata (PQ Mommy)

I could only identify Carol from the real names...who else am I missing? Hopefully the article will be online soon!

    -Tony

Lucky Kid & Proud Parents and k6ql are also represented.

  9. And on the subject of the upcoming holidays...

Anybody want a copy of that misprint?

I thought those weren't supposed to see the light of day ....

    Why, whatever do you mean?

Now, where did I put that email..........Oh yeah, there it is!

  12. Mine is supposed to go to a place in India where the nearest cache is 388 miles away.

If you can wait a year, I'm headed in that direction...

A year is nothing if you consider where it's supposed to go. Maybe I'll just put it in one of your new puzzles? :(

  13. This is the Escondido United for Diabetes travel bug.

Add it to your watchlist, so you can get a picture of it if it makes it to town! There is a new 60CSX given away each quarter for the best pics.

Search the user name Unite for Diabetes to see the list of all 20,000 tags to see find the one headed to your own city.

I got my Unite for Diabetes TB in the mail today. It's trying to get to Yasynuvata, Ukraine. One obstacle that I can see is that the nearest cache to Yasynuvata is 309 miles away. :(

Mine is supposed to go to a place in India where the nearest cache is 388 miles away. TRViolin, you up for a little hike? :D
