  1. If you get to the Tufa Towers the Ghost town of Bodie is just up the road at one time it was the largest "city" in Calif. It patialy burnrd down in the 60's but they have moved in buildings from other ghost towns so it worth the drive in. If possible get there early to sign up for the limited tour they fill up fast and are very interesting. This is a lovely state park that they are planning on closing down due to its remote location and limited open period (snow) so try and get a visit in if you can.
  2. The only problem with MTRP is that the clay will build up on your boots when its wet, this only adds 5 # or so to each so if thats not a prob let er rip
  3. Old Highway 80 or Oakoasis are also options. The Oakoasis loop is what I thought of when I read this request... Another nice loop trail with several caches is the Visitor's Center Loop trail at MTRP...
  4. Woohoo! "GRNZOOM" with find # 9 Way to go!!!!!!! Woo Hoo! Congratulations Nick and Sharon on the 900. Now just think how much easire it will be if and when Sharon gets her new walking staffs. GFETE
  5. I plan on driving up from the border early in the morning and getting caches along the way, just in case anyone from the Southbay is interested. I attended the last one and left around 5:30 PM which gave me some time for visiting at least and I still got home fairly early.
  6. Well I now have the 60 CSX in hand the Mapsource topo downloaded to the PC no prob. But the city select V 7.0 turns out to be some sort of a special dvd that my pc doesn't recognize. Garmin is sending me a second disc to try. Meanwhile I'm waiting for Clyde to come up with the patch for GSAK so I can load multiple caches. Sure got spoiled, since right now I have to hand punch in each co-ord.
  7. I have a friend that is trying to get started with Gsak. It very long distance and I haven't been able to help her move her PQ from her hotmail or her other mailbox. I my case I have OE and just do a drag drop into the new database. For some reason she cannot get the atachment to move and I don't have enough experience to be able to help. Any sugestions?
  8. CONGRATULATIONS ON THE CACHEVERSARY MIRAGEE,i WONDER HOW MANY OTHER FOLKS CAN SAY THEY GOT 1000 CACHES THE FIRST YEAR.
  9. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SLASHETTE DON'T YOU FEEL HONORED TO HAVE IT RAIN ON YOUR BD.
  10. I host light tackle fishing trips in the South Bay and when I needed a internet name I tried fis(h)ing jack but there were umpty ump of them. Fisnjack was unique for hotmail so I grabbed it.
  11. Congrats Chuy on your 2000. And to think I didn't even bother to go for those FTFS on Sun because I was sure you just didn't have time to log them. Instead I finished up all the SDCC caches and others up there. If they are still unclaimed tomorrow I think I will give them a go, any takers?
  12. Oh I forgot to mention I bought a handful of the county coins to use for trade bait at least those i don't drop into caches.
  13. I just recieved 5 EU england coins They look very nice. I plan on keeping at least one. Sorry I missed out on another getogether but this time it was a public hearing for the TJ Regional Park and I wanted to be there. Sure was nice being there when Trailgater made his 1000 he couldn't have picked a better day.
  14. Looks like I will be be attempting to find you guys as well. Finally got the query to run so I now have the caches. Is it best to approach from Escondido or Oceanside? Comming from the border I have a choice. Jack
  15. Yesterday I recieved my 2 Big Bear Gold coins and WOW!!!!!!!! the prettiest of any of my coins.
  16. I personaly have enjoyed finding the cards and realize just how much work goes into their creation. I have not been collecting them but instead have been passing them off. Since Flagman has been doing such a great job perhaps he could colaborate with the finder as to when and at what level the next realese could be. That way it won't always stay in one area close by and would make it a bit easier for either North or South county people to have a chance. As Passing wind says just my 2 cents
  17. Congrats to Pathfinder and Snoopy 1000 and all the others I missed. I too have needed their help on a lot of their caches but then again that seems to be a permanrnt condition.
  18. I would like one please. send a snail mail address and the amount you need
  19. I recieved my 3 compass rose coins today as well ...neat coin I hope to be able to trade one off later. I think I was able to get in on 2 of the Big Bear coins as well.
