  1. I super glued my Garmin auto-mount right to the dash I tried the adhesives mounts and they kept coming unglued. I don't have room on my dash for a beanbag mount and I never tried the RAM suction mount. All I can say is this mount is never coming off the dash...
  2. Hey Timpat, I finally got sat 33 today! Here's a shot from inside my house in MA, sorry it's blurry
  3. I was wondering if anyone has done a master reset on their 60 C(S)x yet? I was curious to know if it wiped the maps off the transflash card. I suppose I could try this myself, but I'm being lazy
  4. Hope you're taking good care of my old VistaC
  5. As of now... no, you cannot find that out from the gps unit itself. A lot of users have been complaining to Garmin about that and hopefully they will address it in the next firmware update. You will need to use mapsource and hook up the gps to the computer to see how much map memory you have available...
  6. I was one of the first to send 'improvement suggestions' to Garmin about the 60C(S)x and have done so 3 times. Hope you all keep emailing as well!
  7. hmmm... I'm still on a mission to get 33. I'm not that far from Albany, only 2 hrs maybe I should drive out...
  8. I'm in MA and have only seen 35 as of yet...I'm still hoping my 60CSx will pick up 33.
  9. Silly me, I would have never thought to have checked the unit serial #
  10. I always avoid the quick chargers as they beat the crap out of rechargeables. I always buy the overnight chargers and always have ample battery supply.
  11. so did sketchysmurf ever get the gps??
  12. I did find the Foretrex 101 on the adventurestation.com website for $110.95 which you can get to through backpacker.com Are they reputable?
  13. The Foretrex 101 seems hard to come by. gpsdiscount only has the 201 listed. Other sites I checked only have the forerunner models or the 201... anyone??
  14. I haven't seen any in stores as of yet...only 512MB. Maybe some online dealers?
  15. I can't find that... am I blind nevermind... limited by formatted capacity. i thought you meant it specifically said 1GB
  16. In the 60CSx manual on page 91 appendix, they actually recommend Lithium batteries in below freezing weather
  17. Hmmm... I was told by Garmin that the unit would only recognize up to 512MB at it's current state.
  18. Define your idea of inexpensive... Most mapping models with adequate memory will cost you $200+, and then add the cost of mapping software
  19. Personally I like the iTunes model of authorizing machines and it would be cool if Garmin went to something similar. Unfortunately they are out to make money on their mapping software...
  20. Amazon.com is typically pretty good. Also check gpsnow.com
  21. In response to the OP, I would recommend NiMH for everday use and Lithium for extended outdoor trips. I'm not sure what happened with your unit, but Lithium should work fine.
  22. I just sent Garmin and email asking them to address the following, you all should do the same. The more complaints, the faster the fix 1) Please add back the alarm clock 2) Please add an icon for checking memory usage on the transflash card 3) Please add and option under battery for Lithium If I forgot anything please add it when you send the email.
  23. I buy all my gps units from gpsnow... they rock!
