  1. Okay. Used the SendImagesToGarmin macro. It worked on my 64S. For some reason the macro is shown as experimental for 6 years and is hidden deep in a very long thread. https://gsak.net/board/index.php?showtopic=21156&view=findpost&p=202293
  2. Has anyone written a GSAK macro that does it all using the API? I had a bit of a look, but it still looked like it worked the old way. Use one program to scrape the site and another to work them into the GPX and onto the GPS. If they can be accessed via API, it should all work within a macro. Really, it could all be an option within GSAK.
  3. Are you referring to the blog entry? https://garmin.blogs.com/softwareupdates/2012/01/geocaching-with-photos.html Perhaps that only shows those models because it was posted in 2012? Do you know for certain that the feature does not work with newer GPS?
  4. So back to the original question. As there is a way. How are you getting the caches and photos onto the GPS? How are you modifying the caches to contain the links to the photos? It probably would be easier to ask on the GSAK forums.
  5. ??? You must be reading my posts in a different light than I do.
  6. Looks like all of HHL's posts are gone.
  7. Cool. Does GSAK then have this all built in with the regular menus?
  8. Discussing scraping images from Groundspeak on their forums is probably not a good idea.....
  9. No Garmin GPS has a way to link the cache to photos.
  10. The first is the forum messaging. The second is the Geocaching messaging.
  11. Yes, when you have the tracks saved to the archive on the card, all of it is there. You just have no way of viewing them on the GPS. Any Garmin handheld newer than the 60csx does not have these limitations. With 7700 finds, you should really treat yourself to a newer GPS. They are alot nicer for caching.
  12. One thing to watch is that saved tracks can only be 500 points maximum on these old units.
  13. I don't think that will work. It will just ignore the new load as it the same as what was there. Try putting on an older firmware. It needs a clear view of the sky for a long period of time.
  14. Actually it might. If the firmware is corrupted, getting a new version, any new version, will fix the issue. He can then install the newest firmware again.
  15. What is showing for the firmware and GPS firmware? http://gawisp.com/perry/etrex/venture/ See what you have got. Maybe try forcing a different firmware to see what happens. You can also try some EOW options here: http://gpsinformation.net/main/eowgarmin.htm It is for older models but you never know.
  16. My understanding is that it does not need mass storage, but it needs to be USB (not serial), so depends on which Legend model.
  17. A Venture HC will not have an EOW issue. No Garmins have EOW issues. I own a Garmin 38 and it does not have an EOW issues. Put it outside and turn it on and let it see the satellites for at least two hours. This ensures that the almanac data is updated completely. Then go to the satellite page and see if the date and time is correct. Hook to a computer and check the dates on both new waypoints and the tracklog after doing this.
  18. What does Basecamp have to do with the problem? He is saying the GPS is not putting the temperature data into the GPX file.
  19. Connect the GPS in mass storage mode to the computer. Then send to the GPS. No need to create files or know where to put them. GSAK creates them and puts them in the correct locations.
  20. As I mentioned earlier, on a 64, it does not drop to zero. The screen stays on with half backlight. It draws 150 mA when the charging is complete.
