  1. Here is mine when I am alone and its warm out.........Oh and its also a TB
  2. In the simplest terms yes you show up, trade an item if you want, and sign the log. But there is more to it than that. Its about the location and the trip getting there. Take some time a think about why the hider brought you there. Signing the log proves that you were actually there and found the cache. There is nothing that really says you have to sign it. There is actually a whole long post about that very subject. This game seems to be kind of wide open. People play how they want to. So have fun and see lots of cool things.
  3. I'd be a bit concerned about how long the fish had been sitting in the cahce... To claim your dinner you had to go into the VFW and tell them you were a geocacher and sign another log for the coupon. I did walk right into that. I don't mind that people dont want to trade. I just can't take my son looking for micros as he gets very bored. Looking at a tiny container with a rolled up piece of paper in it dioes nothing for him. I'm usually happy because I found the blasted thing but hes like ok whatever whats next.
  4. I'm a relatively new cacher and I have only placed 2 caches so far. I have seen a lot of junk in the 30 or so caches I have been too but I have seen a few with some good stuff in them. One even had a free fish dinner. In the two caches I have made I put all sorts of great stuff in them and have found that the few people that have visisted havn't taken anything. I don't get it. The one cache the whole point is for people to take things and not even leave things. I have in one a brand new DVD which is still there. It seems to me people are just too concentrated on FTF and numbers and don't care about swag. Which is very sad as my 4yr old son loves to find "treasures"
  5. I have a 60CSx and a ram motorcycle mount and its awesome. I love it. I dont even use my speedo on the bike anymore as the GPS is a lot more accurate. I will try and get some pics soon.
  6. I just recently placed my first cache and I put a starwars trading card game still sealed in the package and a movie in there for the FTF. I thought I was being cheap lol

  9. No one has any input on this? If not is there a way I can search for places like this?
  10. I was looking through this thread here: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...179518&st=0 And was wondering if there are any caches like these in Southern Wisconsin? I live near Madison and would really like to visit places like this.
  11. I will second that. I have the motorcycle mount and it is rock solid. I need to get the car mount. I also am a new only had my GPSr for about a month. I really like geocaching. Its a lot of fun. My son and I go out quite a bit although the weather hasnt been cooperating lately.

First off Hello everyone. Well I was reading something else on the net and kept seeing this "Geocaching" word and wondered what it was. So of course I googled it and found this webpage. Well I got looking around and this seems like something that is going to be really cool. I ordered a new Garmin 60csx yesterday and can't wait for it to arrive. I went yesterday with my 4yr old son looking for a cache that is in a park very near my house where I actually used to fish a lot. We didnt find it but my son is a hiking nut and loves walking trails. So I think I may be hooked without even having the proper equipment. I cant wait to find my first "treasure" and either can my son.
