  1. Dear Abby, If someone were so disillusioned with a particular activity and had nothing positive to say about it over... say... a 10 month period, why would such a person continue to be engaged in discussion with those who enjoy the activity? Signed, Baffled in Birmingham
  2. I am certainly no fan of ATV's. The problem is not all citizens share the views of the Geocaching majority. If everyone agreed that ATV's were destructive and should be banned we would have no need for this discussion but the fact is ATV riders are a sizeable group and are entitled to governmental funding and provsions as much as any of us. Once this principle is accepted the focus should be to ensure this legislation is constructed in such a way as to severely restrict the land available for this activity and, as Brian stated, make the punishment for violations real and harsh. People are going to ride ATV's in the woods but if this is done right I believe it can keep them out of 'my woods' and on a designated patch of dirt. (Maybe we could designate a superfund site)
  3. I'm hoping this type of cacher is using micro's because I would think an ammo box in this location has got to be uncomfortable.
  4. The log pictures seem to be there, now.
  5. Any cacher with that many finds has got to be hitting some on those 'extended lunch breaks'... right, Floopy? Even an employer who is a cacher might not view this as a good thing.
  6. Team Bam Bam will not be attending. The Army/Navy game is that day and is a family tradition. We will be in Philly for the game. Go Navy, Beat Army!
  7. Welcome. Enjoy the caching and try to target some events. There are some really good people that do this... most of us are schmucks but there are some really good ones if you look hard enough.
  8. A great conversation took place on the trails today. Check out my (Team Bam Bam) log for The Hiker Series #2.
  9. I've met him and he is NOT fat. Correct, I am big-boned but I am a big stupid head.
  10. I would try to act a little more dignified than that. If a cache can be safely placed in CP my utmost confidence would be with AvroAir to successfully place it.
  11. Congratulations... and a special 'thank you' for continuing to remind me of the human body's amazing ability to heal itself.
  12. Mark has been called a "master-planner" a "Master pirate" and the "master mind" behind numerous puzzel caches but word on the street is that his next event will be a group fishing trip where he will finally be labled "master-baiter". Thanks, Mark.
  13. This event was fantastic. Thanks, Mark. We all had a great time.
  14. This one is not really a cache log but it is a great idea for a GeoCoin... AvroAir, you listening? Check out the Kitch Geocoin from Minnesota.
  15. Congratulations. Barney would be proud!
  16. This sounds downright scandalous!
  17. Our newest cache is called Born On The Bayou, partially in tribute to Creedence Clearwater Revival and partially as a description of it's terrain. Bluehook recently logged FTF honors and his log is fantastic (especially if you are a CCR fan). I also remember one recently where some folks didn't see the hunter up in the tree and were about to take a leak... can't remember the details exactly. One more: Avroair & Hartclimbs' logs for The Passaic Hideaway are great.
  18. Agreed. (this was only posted to further my quest to surpass Briansnat's 'post total')
  19. I don't think Bluehook and JR even know each other... just the facts, mam. Anyway, congrats to JR (even though congrats are usually reserved for milestones of 100 incriments - at this rate we might not issue a JR congratulations until 2008). Seriously, thanks for the caches in the Hilltop Preservation, we really enjoyed this area. Also, congrats on your TB reaching Cuba - not too many get there. Enjoy the next 50, 100, 200, etc. -TBB
  20. Yeah, if we wanted 'lesser caches' we would go to Nutley, NJ.
  21. ... and not one smile? Come on, Brian, in these pictures you look like you've just done one of YOUR caches.
  22. Saturation does matter. It matters to Admins and to those who would care to take issue with our sport. They do not look at the specific location or vista, only at the all-mighty cache-map. In all fairness, I argued the exact opposite point while trying to get One Particular Harbour approved but the fact is, if looking to carry Geocaching well into the future, we need to look at area saturation as an issue that outsiders might look at with ignorance to cache quality.
