  1. Hello All, I'm not sure I want to read all 34 pages..... but we have been doing geocaching since May. We have really started doing more and more lately including placing a couple of caches ourselves. Bug has bitten us and we are hooked. We are in the St. Louis area and just decided to look into this forum. I was reading a couple of entries, and it sounds like some bash here from time to time. I'm also very much into modifing Pontiac Fieros and racing. On the Fiero forum I have seen the same thing people trolling and bashing others. I usually just ignore those people and block them so I don't see any of thier replies. I've met a few Cachers out there and they seem to be really nice people in person. Anyway I do need to learn a few things and hopefully some here can help point me in the right direction. The big problem I have is learning about some of these "cyptic" I guess clues. I need to learn more about them and the do and don'ts in geocaching. Talk to everyone later, Earl
  2. As kids, my boys always loved finding Easter Eggs. We would hide them over and over again. Then Boy Scouts came along and my boys found they loved to camp and hike in the woods. Then we found out about Geocaching, talking about putting two of the things our family loves to do together. It was a instant hit at our house. Anytime we go anywhere different whether it's taking the Golden Retriver for a walk, camping, boating, or just going for a ride somewhere new, etc. we always check to see if a Cache has been hidden near by lately. A old saying comes to mind as I write this....... A family that plays together stays together. I think that is very true. The more fun we have now when they are younger the more fun we will have later in life when they are older and married. We enjoy walking and hiking and exploring. Finding an occassional cache is a bonus and has a positive reinforcing effect on the kids that they can do anything they set thier minds too. That was kinda deep I guess.......... for short it's just great fun.
  3. New here and my first post in the forum. I knew we were hooked when my wife decided it was fun. I'm going to try a pic here: But I'm not saying were it was at. It had the best hint I think I ever saw. "It is Safe"
