  1. Here's a link to an article I just ran across.... I'm not technical enough to have an opinion just yet.... http://www.pcworld.com/businesscenter/article/221853/is_gps_about_to_break.html
  2. I like both the item and the concept, as long as it's trackable on GC.com. I'm not loggin onto multiple sites to log items. Just buy bulk TB's from GC.com and let 'er rip....
  3. My profile map shows the places that I have cached in. If you did not restrict it to geocaching, then I've also been to Iceland, England, Switzerland, Lebanon, Turkey, Iran, Bahamas, and Mexico. I've flown over all the countries that border these countries.. :-)
  4. I've already quit a couple times. Strictly out of boredom with it. I'm enjoying it again because it gets me off my fat butt and out walking and getting some air. If/when I get bored again I'll move on to something else.
  5. I generally don't read the descriptions until after I've found the cache, as a general rule. I am irritated by folks not picking the right size though. I don't enjoy doing micro/nano's and would like to be able to filter them out of my PQ's.
  6. I don't mean to derail a fine thread, but whatnot? Are you serious? I didn't want to split this into a "what's in your caching bag" thread. Or are you just referring to my use of the word "whatnot?" I assure you, I am up to no tomfoolery or shenanigans, I am a swell guy. Didn't mean to start any brouhaha... How dare you boonswaggle my thread with your whatnot!
  7. I'll move away from it and then let them know I've found it. Don't want to spoil their fun either.
  8. +1!!!! Plus I think not deleting his log just encourages this practice. This is not a good thing to encourage. +2
  9. Thanks folks. I appreciate all the input. I have a VERY old Nikon Coolpix that I used to use in an underwater housing back when I was still involved in scuba. It was a good camera. I have a Kodak now but it's just too bulky. Since I don't want to spend a ton of money, I just might go with MtnMutt's suggestion. Only problem with that is I can't draw for $hit. I guess I could go back out to Petroglyph National Monument and get some ideas to practice with though..
  10. Thinking about getting a new small camera to go in the pack. What are you using?
  11. Did a couple today with my dipping bug, no problems over here...
  12. Completely agree. I'd vote for doing away with hints completely.
  13. Signature items, such as wooden nickels, engraved poker chips, ceramic items.....
  14. Yes. Why wouldn't it be a cache?
  15. I'm one of those that don't care about my profile/cache hunts being public. I suppose if I did care, I'd not spend any time on the net. As to a cache owner getting testy about me viewing their profile or caches, it's public information at this point so it doesn't matter what they think. I'm a premium member so I can look at PMO caches without fear of repercussions as well. I guess if enough folks do care what can be seen and voice their opinions, TPTB might change things...
  16. That's been the case around here too. I'm not a swag collector, I much prefer signature items and I always drop one of mine in but most of what I'm seeing these days is just junk. I did run across a couple last weekend though that had stuff kids would like with no junk. I'd bet that those get regular visits from the CO's....
  17. Get a clipboard and a pad and an "official" looking hat. You'll be amazed how quickly you no longer look like a dork walking around in circles...
  18. You shouldn't have put those videos on xtube either
  19. I'm wondering now if I am the only one that doesn't generally read the cache description before I hunt a cache and sometimes not even after I've found it. I download pocket queries to GSAK and then load them into my 60csx. I dump all the caches into my ipod touch but I generally forget it when I jump out of the truck. If I find the cache I log it as found. Having said all this, I guess I won't be yelling yes or no, dressing up, or singing when requested to do so...
  20. I should have read all posts first....
  21. Email the cache owner and ask them. If it were mine, I'd certainly appreciate the effort and the help.
  22. Those are my favorite caches to visit!
  23. Generally alone but sometimes the better half and the dogs come along.
  24. What is the GC #? I'm going to be in Huntsville in June. GC1A9
