  1. That is what I meant by "brand new". The ones I am using now have been through several discharge-charge cycles over the past 2 years in my dig camera and they are working fine. These are only 2300 mAH batteries and I am buying a maha charger with 2700 mAH for future use.
  2. I think... I noticed that the Colorado doesnt like brand new fully charged batteries so I took my rechargeable NiMH out of my digital camera and gave them a try. So far I have had it on for 4 hours and still have 3 out of 4 bars on the life indicator. Definitely an improvement over the 1.5-2 hours I was getting out of the brand new batteries. Hopefully I can get at least 12 hours out of these batteries and not have to worry about sending in for a replacement.
  3. 2 hours is being generous, it is actually a little less than that. I downloaded the new firmware that "supposedly" fixed the problem and it loaded when I restarted because the GPS took 5 minutes to boot afterward. I think I have one with a hardware problem.
  4. The only problem I have with mine is the battery life is still messed up. I have downloaded the new beta firmware and am using NiMH batteries. I have backlighting turned all the way down, compass off, WAAS disabled, etc. I still only get around 2 hours of continuous use. I am going to try higher maH rated batteries today and see if that helps. The ones I have now are the Sanyo 2300's that Garmin sells with a charger on their website. I think I may have to send this unit back for a new one. Other than that I think the GPS is great.
