  1. It seems Winter is my favourite time to cache. Mostly because I have more free time and I need the exercise. I have noticed this summer though that poison ivy doesn't grow in the winter and the lack of leaves and ferns and grass makes for an easier search.
  2. I tested it on Windows I will have to test it on my ubuntu partition as well.
  3. I have used whereyougo on a BlackBerry Q5 downloaded with snap. Works great. This could be added to the supported hardware. Probably most BB10 devices will work this way. (Not the playbook)
  4. For firefox make sure you have the latest firefox, latest greasemonkey and install the following: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/lukeIam/GCComment/master/src/gccomment.user.js More info here: https://github.com/Birnbaum2001/GCComment/issues/4 Use at your own risk, looks like a chrome version is there and the opera one might not work.
  5. With GSAK and the API you can download "lite" caches and export as GPX to your GPSr. You won't have any descriptions or hints or logs but you will have the coords. Using the GC codes and a smart phone you can look those up on the fly with coord.info. I had premium purchased for me as a gift, but now I'm not sure I would be willing to go back.
  6. I think you picked a poor day to post about this, I will look and see if I can find an app for BlackBerry.
  7. That is ABS I believe. If you actually use the solvent and that proper plug you see in the photo with an O-Ring seal they work well. I've had a 3.5" one out this winter and it is nice and dry yet.

  9. Maybe it was another geocacher, They could be circling the car looking for travel bugs on your vehicle. I have done the same at times. Though I always wear my GPS around my neck as a bit of a clue to cachers.
  10. I have two challenge caches I want to finish up. I can probably do them in a month or two. Also I have an idea for a puzzle cache to try out but I need to find a place for it.
  11. Seems like the problem has taken care of itself, the Cache owner has disabled all of his/her PMO caches. Also I don't see anything obvious in the France forums but my French skimming could have missed something.
  12. I wouldn't without the owners permission. Though this depends on the type of container. If it is film canister I don't see anyone getting too excited.
  13. My opinion on Wherigo is that smartphones is the way to go since everyone seems to have one, they support sound, colour photos, have a real keyboard, etc. Which makes them ideal for Wherigo. Groundspeak can easily encourage development of these apps even if Garmin and others don't want to include them. whereyougo for android is currently opensource so anyone with some money can hire a developer to work on it.
  14. You win some you lose some. If you aren't willing to work with the reviewer to find out how far and in which direction to move your cache and return to move it then you probably aren't willing to go back and maintain it. Maybe post the coords here and someone who has solved the puzzle can tell you which direction to go and how far.
  15. Geotours exist as a way for commercial caches to be placed. http://www.geocaching.com/adventures/geotours If any of these cache types would work, it could be beta tested as an unknown. I can see certain types of Mystery or unknown caches get broken off into groups: http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=277 Beacon Caches Bonus Caches Challenge Cache Night Cache Puzzle Cache As far as Wherigo works, I would love to see Groundspeak push the development for iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Windows mobile, etc. Smartphones are the future for good or bad and it seems "everyone" has one now. But it will need a push somehow to keep it going. I would like to be able to publish a cache that required more clues than GPS use, Maybe like a fire tack type path but for daytime. Something to think about anyway.
  16. DNF 51 Found 244 I would say that you are just fine. I found very successfully at the start since I was usually going after ammo cans in the woods. With urban caches I have had to rethink my strategy a bit. Also sometimes the caches could be missing.
  17. I'm not sure what you are asking but if you are looking for caches that you have logged twice you can try this: http://project-gc.com/Profile/FindBadLogs
  18. It could be possible that your email system is doing something to the zip file to break it. Not sure if that is possible though.
  19. That reminds me, I have one like that. I need to go put some wire on it.
  20. This one? http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=81c832ed-6455-4209-82b8-b9c68d8acef2 464 Feet away. If this is the one it appears the owner is no longer caching(or maintaining) I am all in favour of having these caches removed so that another can be put in place. especially a Multicache.
  21. Sounds about right. Although I think I will refer to FTF as PAT from here on out. Félicitations
  22. I usually assume that winter friendly means either that it is placed above the snow accumulation or is big enough to be found under the snow. The NOT winter friendly could mean the area is closed in winter (unusual locally). As for Terrain usually the snow makes things easier to get to.
  23. I did that once this winter, I was more careful after unless the cache listing stated it was an ammo box. I've taken to hiding most of mine in trees to help out with this.
