I voted. type of animal was a frog. Good folks like these can use all the help they can get, so lets go geocoin community get out there and VOTE.

Not enough to have the kind of collection I would like to build.............

I am talking about if a coin is made i 3 metals do you buy all the meatals or just the one that really gets your eye. I have found that for me the copper coins seem to really catch my eye. However some coins look really good in all metals. but to buy sets of all the coins being made would lead to divorce court if you know what I mean.

When purchasing coins for a collection is it best to buy the set or is it ok to buy just one? I am just looking for opinions.

You can't buy from CoinSwag anymore anyway, as the website's gone, and has been for several months. If you're needing activation codes, you should email Groundspeak with the tracking code and name of the coin. Yes I see that now I was working off of an old list I had from when my son had tried to collect geocoins but she soon found out how much it would cost him. so I am taking the few that he had to get my collection started and there was an old list he made up of places to buy. so i do not understand is it save to buy coins from coinswag or not I am just starting to collect and they were one of the places I was going to buy from. also I have some coins I want to activate that my young son had recieved about a year ago.

My son had collected some geocoins about 1 year ago some of the folks here were nice enough to donate a couple of coins to get him starte noe he has lost interest in his coins, but I have gained an interest in coins. My question is do you activate the coins in your collection or do you leave them unactivated. They will be in my collection not out roaming the world. I have one USA coin I would like to activate to send out in the world. but it is the others I was wondering about.

How does everyone display and or store their coins. Right now the few that I have are thrown in a little box still in the sleeves they were shipped in. just looking for Ideas. I was thinking of a 3 ring binder with seperated compartment pages like they use for baseball cards.

That is one sharp looking coin. I wam new to collecting This may be a good one to start with, I have 10 other coins that my son had started with but lost interest this will be my first buy. Hopefully I will be able to get one of these, during my geocaching adventures. VERY nice idea as far as the authenticity check with the alpha numeric code.

What is the best way to start a collection of geocoins. I know everyone will ssay buy them. but where from are there places with better prices than others? Do you collect certain types or styles of coins. Being new to coin collecting I have alot of ?.

As some if you may know my son started a collection 2 years ago, he has since lost interest in coins so I have decided to start collecting myself he has five coins to get me going so I will be looking to buy some more so basically this is a reintroduction for me to everyone in the coin Forum. I also am having this problem since I downloaded 2.6 firmware for my pn40 I cannot get caches from send to gps how do I solve this or get my 2.5 firmware back as I knew it worked there.

Looking for someone to make me some wooden Nickels send Geonickel a design I liked and have never heard back from them are there any others out there with prices similar to theres.

I am looking for a design with a wolves headon it or a one with a image of yosemite sam on it. Someone here designed me one last summer but when my computer crashed I lost the design and contact info.

where is the best place to get wooden nickels made, with a custom design. i know what i want but my artistic abilities are limited, so iwill need someone to design and draw it up for me.

About a year ago someone designed a design for me using a pic of yosemite sam. I loved he design but due to a computer crash I lost the design before I could have any made, and I no longer have the design so any wooden nickel designers if you are interested in designing me one let me know. or if you designed on for me sometime ago I would love to see it again.
