well, don't keep us in suspense...which geocoin did you select as your 1st addictive hit?! Well I am not sure what the first one is i bought one of the bags from Arvoir. but I am going to place an order for the pirates pieces of Eight from the geocoin store and two of the other pirate theme coins they have out. figure that should be good to add to what folks donated to my son when he tried to collect them a couple years ago.

I have just bought my first coins, I have been putting it off but took the leap tonight, to get my collection started. hope I did not make a mistake as I have seen lots of coins I would like to have in a collection. This could get addicting and expensive

I perfer to use my compass screen when seeking a cache. As for the other numbers what does the heading say above the numbers. with the compasss it should give you the distance to your next turn or your distance to destination, if yoy want to keep it simple taht should really be all you need to find a cache and get started in this great game.

new to this collecting thing haven't started to buy coins yet so all I got were............... BILLS.......................... LOL

First I agree it is going to become more popular but then I also predict it will be a fad type thing for most people, and only those who truly love it will stick around. I have been around for 2 years now but have just 42 finds because of coaching my 14 year old son in sports most of the year does not leave much time for caching I have ask several people who showed an interest in caching ,after they had learned that I was a cacher, To join me and I would show them what it was all about but when the time comes to actually go they decide they do not want to try it. I belive in the long run that caching will be fine.

I have the pn 40 with the electronic compass and I love it. I have cached with and without a compass on the GPS and would much prefer the compass.

Well I have been around here for two years, I don't have many finds but I for one do not see what fun it would be to steal a coin all the ones I have ever moved I enjoy watching to see where they end up. I am just starting to collect coins and the has made the decision on weather to activate or nor much easier. Now on the topic If you know forsure who it is call him out on the forums, to me it is just not right to steal a coin.

There are a lot of things that go into answering this question terrain, how thick is the cover both leaves and clouds how good were the coords when the cache was placed. mine will generally get me to within 20 feet of the cachcoords given then you just have to hunt.

Not to much of a people person so most of my caching is done alone however my wife and son do go with me once in a while. I find it peaceful to be out by myself caching.

Thanks for the replies I believe I will activate the ones I am keeping for my collection., I also have one I would like to set free taht I will be activating now I just have to figure out how to activate them. What should I do once I activate them won't they all show up on my trackables list I would say that list would start to get pretty cluttered is there another way to do this.
