  1. I like mini golf. Why this category hasn't been added ALREADY is beyond me. A very good idea, indeed.
  2. What about cider mills? How can you go wrong with good old apple cider?
  3. That's the worst idea ever. Sorry. The only bright side is that law enforcement could locate these places by using a GPS. Still, a bad idea.
  4. I found this strange photo. I have been looking at it, trying to figure out the details behind it. The Photo
  5. Oh snap! You're right! I've got a ton of those laying around! Plastic jars too! Thanks for your help, you've made my day!!!
  6. I'm asking this question for 2 reasons: First, I'm on a budget (obviously). Second, the location is an abandoned highway bridge that has been closed for 30+ years. I want something large that would make the trip to the middle of the bridge worthwhile. I thought a 55 gallon drum would do the trick as nobody would suspect that it was in fact a geocache container. The only issue is making it stand up to the elements. I like the traditional 35 mm film idea but they've been getting lots of complaints lately because people don't like micros. I just thought I'd make a big ole container for fun.
  7. Does anybody know of any junk that could be used as an actual geocache container with little or no improvements or modifications? So far the only junk I can find is an old 55 gallon drum. Any suggestions or ideas would be helpful. I need a cache container that will blend in with an abandoned structure and/or an abandoned bridge.
  8. So far, I have had only one bad experience; I posted a micro cache that was hidden under two pieces of mulch at a mall entrance and the approver archived it because as they saw it, it was buried. It was not, but I can see how it might have appeared to be buried. Oh well.
  9. Many modern ambulances and fire trucks have them built in. They show the location of the emergency and the dispatcher knows your location. It works great and is a real time saver!
  10. I have a trauma bag in my car whenever I go caching. Then again, it's in my car always, but it's nice to know you have first aid handy if things go extremely badly.
  11. Just about anything can be made into a travel bug, regardless of size or weight. Let me cite a few examples: My Most Popular TB (Public Pay Phone) "Pin Me" (An Old Bowling Pin) ...and... An Odd One (Travel Bug in a Mug) I have some odd travel bugs, but they're fun!
  12. Nah! I much prefer the traditional way of logging finds. Until Groundspeak finds a way to improve the logging process (though I find it perfect at its present state), I will stick to the way I've always logged caches.
  13. It's a GREAT story! Thanks for linking to the video clip (I was unable to find it) . Thomas
  14. http://www.thechamplainchannel.com/news/2000934/detail.html http://www.thechamplainchannel.com/technol...024/detail.html Unfortunately, they haven't yet posted tonight's news story starring NFA-Jamie. I guess I'll have to post a new reply when I find it has been posted.
  15. Hey! I saw the news segment with NFA on WPTZ channel 5 in Plattsburgh. Way to go, NFA-Jamie! Nicely done!
  16. We don't?!?! That's not cool! I hope someone gets on this right away!
