I could have sworn that I saw what appeared to have been a benchmark in a local mall. Interestingly enough, it was inside.

 

Was this an actual benchmark set by the NGS? Are there indoor marks in existance?

I think this idea should be expanded to contain any giant board game. I know of a giant Monopoly board and a giant Backgammon board.

I think it would be cool to have giant chess boards as a category. These are hard to find, but fun to play, if you have giant plastic chess pieces.

I love this idea! What would make it even better is to have an icon if there is an active geocache in the area, say within a few miles or so, though it's just an idea. I think that campgrounds are awesome and have a place here on Waymarking.com!

While looking for a benchmark, I found a blanket, some ladies undergarments, a finished bottle of alcohol, and several plastic cups.

 

Then, on a different hunt, I stumbled into someones marijunia plants. I decided the hunt was too risky at that point and headed back home.
