Hey Guys, I'm trying to think of a new Geocache and I want to do something that cachers will remember. Do you guys have any ideas as to what kind of creative caches I could make? We are talking about challenging/fun/crazy caches. Give us your ideas! -GeoShif

Aftermarket USB Cables for Garmin Etrex
GeoShif replied to ocklawahaboy's topic in GPS technology and devices
That's just the info I was looking for. Thanks! Hi I just bought the most basic Garmin eTrex, and I wanted to confirm that you can enter in the coordinates manually. Is that correct? Thanks -
I have the most basic "Garmin eTrex" Its yellow, and I believe it is one of the older models. So I can make waypoints and enter in the coordinates to them manually? I do not NEED a cord?
-
I just checked Garmin's website and for some reason it said that it was not Geocaching friendly. Is this true? And can you manually enter in coordinates?
-
Can you create your own waypoints, and manually change the coordinates?

Hi, What type of a cord do I need to connect my Garmin eTrex to the computer? And can I manually enter in the coordinates?
-
Its yellow with the globe on the top, and underneath it says "12 Channels" It is the most basi, and simply called the "eTrex"

Just bought the GPS. Is it good for Geocaching? And can you download the coordinates on to the GPS?

Hi. I have multiple sources that said that the Jensen NVX200 can be used for Geocaching. Can anyone give me more information about this?

If I tell my best ideas, then they won't be of much use anymore - the cachers in my area will read my post, and already know how to solve. True -

Garmin E-trex Legend For Geocaching
GeoShif replied to GeoShif's topic in GPS technology and devices
I used one for a little over 400 caches and it works just fine. I would recommend getting the "legend H" for a similar price, its a little more sensitive, but mine was just a plain legend. Its a decent unit for the price and holds 1000 waypoints. I also used mine and hooked it to a laptop with streets and trips and had in car navigation with that. What happens after 1000 waypoints? Do you delete them? -

On Saint Patrick's Day I was biking to a Geocache near my house. On the way back I clipped the hand grip of my 3 day old Mountain Bike on a trash can and flew into a tree. Thankfully I was wearing my helmet. -GeoShif
