I was out on a cache on Monday, when the young girl went missing. Even though I was hunting in Waterdown, nowhere near where she went missing in Toronto, I couldn't help but wonder what neartby residents might be thinking, seeing some strange guy heading off into the woods alone. Made me feel very conspicuous. If I were anywhere near that are, I don't think I'd be doing much caching right now. Cheers! Ian.

Well, I must admit to having pulled him from a cache in Hamilton, since he seemed to be heading south and I thought he should head north, taking that aforementioned land route. In retrospect, with the popularity of Westjet Vancouver flights from Hamilton, I think he might be better of in that are, skipping the long drive. On the other hand, his competitor, Tour Bus To Ontario, hasn't made it out of BC yet, either. He's close, though. Good luck with the race. Cheers! Ian.

Well, Take Me To Your Litre, a bug I recently moved, shows a map, with 38.07 miles traveled, so if there is a minimum, it must be less than that. So far, that is the only move logged for this TB. Cheers! Ian.

On my recent trip to the north end of the park, I was able to do three caches and thoroughly enjoyed it. Was hoping to do some highway corridor caches on the way home, but we just ran out of time. Hopefully they won't make any major changes before I get the chance to do some of them. As has been expressed elsewhere in this thread, I think if we are all respectful of the environment and stick to the trails as much as possible, surely the powers at be will recognize that cachers are nature lovers and care about the state of the parks. Hey Objets, Well, have a look at the cache site, but basically it says this: "Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to persuade another Geocacher to get out there and take a photo of his GPS (with the coords clearly visible) at ANY coord. (choice is his/hers) that intersects with the coord. you created from your username above. A photo of the surrounding area would be nice as well! Once that photo is taken, you need to get it into your grubby little hands. Your buddy can upload it for you to the site. He can mail it for you to post, etc. Then you need to post the log for the find with the picture & tell us where the point is located. In order for both of you to get credit for the cache, your buddy must email me stating that he took the picture & reference your Username (or put this info into his log if he posts the picture directly for you). This way you can both log a cache. If he doesn't log, or if you have someone other than a Geocacher do this for you, you will get solo credit providing you have the photo with your log." So, you would be the "other Geocacher" referred to. You take a picture somewhere, with the GPS showing the co-ordinate I have supplied. The other co-ordinate can be whatever suits you or whatever would make a good picture. Once you e-mail me the photo, we both log a find for the cache. International Geo-collaboration. Kinda cool. Obviously it is easier if you have a digital camera, so that you could just upload it directly, but a scanned print would work, too. Let me know if you're into it and you're off to the races. Cheers! I recently bought a brand-new Magellan Sportrak Map on E-Bay. My first E-Bay purchase (or bid)ever and I think a got a really good deal. I did wait until there was about a minute left in the auction and I made 2 or 3 bids (in small increments), to become the highest bidder. I paid a decent price, saving about $100US, from what they go for at Canadian Tire (yes, I'm in Canada). I was reluctant, dealing with someone so remote and so unknown and unseen, but I went for it. I knew what the unit was worth, so I was comfortable making my bids. The service was fast and excellent. I don't agree with "bid the most you are willing to pay". The idea is to try to get a bargain. Just don't get caught in a bidding frenzy, or go OVER that max you've set.
