  1. Again, you try to shoot down an area that you have never cached. Try caching here, you will find it different than you think.
  2. SO I guess we all need to put a disclaimer on our cache pages that this cache was placed by a cacher that handles peanuts?
  3. Are they any DOCUMENTED cases of cachers having an allergic reaction from finding a Peanut Butter jar cache? if so, then this thread should continue. IF NOT, then lock it down. 'nuff said.
  4. No one accused you of being smart for exercising your right to cache but not log them. Now if you were to post a DNF on one of our caches, we would look at your find count/post ratio and not even bother checking the cache as it appears online that you are an armchair cacher, so the next person would probably find it and we would have wasted our time checking on it because such an inexperienced cacher would probably miss it anyways. But Back OT... Are you allergic to Peanuts? If so, probably not safe to cache here in Jacksonville anyways.
  5. 3 out of 4 in our group are allergic to the moldy logs that those contain. Everyone in our group is allergic to taking caching advice from cachers that have more posts than finds. Oh dang here we go with the numbers again... But we have learned to take that advise with a grain of salt and cache on. We have accepted the dangers and it is now our responsibility, not the responsibility of gc.com or the hiders.
  6. Forget the PB Jars, forget the lock and lock, forget the ammo can... JUST HIDE A 35MM FILM CANISTER. They are FREE and I haven't ever heard of anyone that was allergic to film.
  7. We met Jeremy and Shauna at GW5 and received a coin from Jeremy. We emailed contact@Groundspeak.com and were given ownership within a day or 2. It was a please to met both of them. Thanks again for the really cool coin.
  8. I for one had our coin collection there for others to look at and discover if they so chose. Just haven't had the time to pick them all back up, but I will when I can.
  9. Any word what is going on with this? I need to change to goals on a lot of my trackables as GW5 is over and they don't need to go there any more.
  10. We don't wander into the forums very often, but when we saw these at GW5, and heard the story, we just had to have a set. Thanks for all that you have done for this great cause. Please keep us informed as to her condition. Thank you again.
  11. I bought my first GPS about a month before we discovered caching. It was a Garmin GPS 12. My dad had a GPS 12XL for use on his boat, and I thought it was cool, so I bought one off ebay for $50. As I was showing it to another friend, she asked if we were GeoCachers and we said What is that? Went home and looked it up... the rest is history. We since have purchased a Magellan Meridian Gold and a Garmin GPSmap 60C.
  12. http://www.myspace.com/mrsuzyq See you in myspace!
  13. We have a little saying here in Florida... "If you post it, they will come..." Really haven't had that problem here
  14. And exactly where is this Rule posted? Not here in the forums, but in the actual Guidelines, as they are the rules, not some fallacy dredged up here in the forums. I reread the guidelines and Terms of Service again this morning and didn't find that "Rule" anywhere...
  15. I walked the vendor area at Daytona while I was there for the Gatorade Duel on Thursday and could not find a Garmin or BestBuy area. It would have been cool to check out, as all the vendors give away free stuff to the fans.
  16. Mrs. SuzyQ was recently given one of those machines by her Dr. I saw those containers and thought the same thing....
  17. We started as a family of 4 under 1 ID. THe kids asked for their own namew, so we set them up, but the wife and I still maintain a Team name. A couple summers ago, she and the kids went to visit her mother in NY and I stayed here in FL. We both cached and logged caches on the same day in different states. She isn't in to in enough to want her own ID, so we keep the one we have. No one has ever questioned us about it and we feel that there is nothing wrong with it.
  18. The last time I flew for business was from Florida to Las Vegas and I flew United. They did not question me as to what it was and as long as it was off during take off and landing, we could use them in flight. It was pretty cool, I now have a max speed on my unit as 584 mph and seeing the altitude at 40,000 ft was cool too... My suggestion is to check with the airline that you are flying. I have heard that there are some that do not allow the use of GPS in flight.
  19. My wife has a Meridian Gold. THe big plus we found is that you can put the maps and waypoints on an SD card and can use it on a long trip without having to hook it up to the comuter to update the maps when you drive off them or you can change between roads and topo maps without the computer also.
  20. Being a Certified Water Technologist, I travel frequently through a 3 state area (FL, GA & SC) servicing my customers and picking up caches when I can. 99% of my travel is by car, so caches along a route really helped me out.
  21. One year, our son's birthday fell on an event. The event planner hid a special cache and we had the coords written on his cake. The only way people got the coords before it was published was to stop by the cake and take a look. Everyone, including our son enjoyed it.
  22. Bet you don't have one of these in your area... Yes, there is a cache there. Cache page
