  1. If you can find the cache without solving the puzzle then you can claim the smiley. If the Cache owner wants you to solve the puzzle then you either gotta take the time to do it or think of another way to get the coordinates. :)There are plenty of caches around where you do not have to solve puzzles. Why not just do those ones? Yes, a serious whine about puzzle and multi caches being too much effort for him. I knew we could count on "The Jester" for serious insights! I'm Jest what you needed. It's not about the effort, I have many mountain top finds I have spent the better part of a day hiking to. It's about wasted effort, no where does it say I have to solve a puzzle or do all the stages of a multi to get a legitimate find hence to save me time I'd be willing to spend money, a lot of businesses are built on this model.
  2. Is that an Elder Sign i see? And Cthulhu to boot! Awesome!
  3. I have thought that one cool idea for a 3d Printer would be to make a trackable action figure of myself and send it out in the wild.
  4. Geocaching means so many things to so many different people. Sometimes we forget that this simple fact alone is what makes Geocaching the beautiful and awe inspiring hobby that it is. We let our differences in opinions cause the occasional dispute in how our game should be played. Instead of doing this, lets take this time to share what it is that we like about geocaching. Personally, I have many reasons why I like it. The biggest reason is I find it a wonderful way to combine the Outdoors with Technology. There are not many other things in life that bring these two often opposing forces together so well. I also love that it is a very positive community bringing together people from all walks of life. The majority of geocachers I have met and interacted with are some of the most generous and caring people that I know. My third favorite feature is the creativity. Whether it is the cache design, puzzle, or signature items I come across, I have often been amazed by the staggering amount of creativity out there. Please share what you like about geocaching!
  5. Some people would also suggest to wait until you find more to hide. However, I think this varies with each person. Some people find so much that their creativity is not what it is at the beginning. This is the way I always look at it. A cache should USUALLY do one of the following things to make it a good cache.... 1. Bring me some place cool. 2. Show a lot of creativity. This could be through cache design, a cool background story, or a clever puzzle. 3. Challenge me either physically or mentally. Either one of these could be a WOW factor in my book. If its a combination and delivers multiple WOWs, even better.
  6. In which case neither one should be messed with.
  7. Awesome coin and milestone! Congrats!
  8. Have not updated it in a while, but I have one as well. Team V3 rocks!
  9. I thought it was very well done. I subscribed and thought about sharing the first video on my FB to help non-geocachers see what we do. I did not want to do so without your permission though.
  10. Bummer. I like looking at different puzzle pages.
  11. These two puzzles look cool. What are the GC#s?

  13. I think it is very good advice. The only one that I would say is not set in stone is the one about not hiding until you find at least 25. While I see the logic, everyone is different. Some people say 100. I think some people might come up with good hides after even 5 or 10. While I agree with it, I have also found some very good caches hidden by people that were super new to the game. I have also found hides that weren't as good that were placed by "veterans".
