  1. Are those chains that come with the TB tags reliable? Or is it better to put the put the TB in a baggie?
  2. This is really cool. Tried it out in the field last week and it's much more efficient that the traditional "www' URL. Plus since it's all text based and formatted for cellular the phone battery shouldn't drain as quickly. Using it with a Verizon LG ENv (9900). Very pleased to see this.
  3. Just came back from a fun morning geocaching with my daughter. We downloaded the coordinates using the "Send to GPS" after I found out yesterday that all I had to do was log in to the site using a Firefox browser. We had a great day geocaching. Hope you all did also. No excuses not to -- several working solutions have been put forward in this thread and the one about the update. Have a good one.
  4. DITTO...etrex Vista HCx...same exact problem...tried everything for hours IE7 Try the Firefox browser. Worked for me. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/
  5. The "Find -> Geocaches" option simply finds waypoints with the icon set under "Setup -> Geocache". Perhaps you've changed that setting? On my Garmin Venture HC the only setting under Setup for Geocaching is to mark the find with a date stamp. Nothing about icons other than to show a closed chest for "Find" and an open one for "Found". But they are not settings, just info to fill the page.
  6. It's working for me again using Firefox 2.0 and now 3.0 on WinXp. It does not work for me with IE6. I have a Garmin Venture HC. The only problem is that they are being saved as Waypoints and not Geocaches. I don't see them under "Find -> Geocaches", just "Find -> Waypoints". No biggie (except what's the point of having the "Find -> Geocaches" option now) but I'm wondering if there is some switch on the send string that the server assembles that is telling it to do that. If so, webmaster, please flip the switch.
  7. Definitely a browser issue. No joy with IE6 (I know, living in the past). But then realised I also had Firefox 2 on this PC so tried it and the Send to GPS window came up with all the normal buttons, and successfully sent the data to the GPSr. However, they are being sent to the GPSr as Waypoints and not Geocahces. Or at least the GPSr is now handling them as such and is now putting the in the waypoint list and not the Geocache list (didn't previously). If there is a switch in the data string that is assembled on the server for sending to the GPSr please check it and flip the switch. I was also able to successfully input the My GPS info for my profile using Firefox. Now if only the "Send to PDF" buttons had miraculously reappeared. But I'm much happier now than yesterday.
  8. Unable to send to my Garmin Venture HC anymore. Installed the plug-in, it recognised the device. This feature worked like a charm until this update. This is a huge negative. And honestly, one of the reasons I bought the Garmin. After the inability to "Send to GPS" I really miss the PDF option. Please bring it back. But if you can't then how about adding the option of resizing the map on printouts to "None". It's forcing a second page to print out with no real useful data. Can't complete the "Select GPS" on account page. I can choose Make and Model but I can not click on Submit or Cancel. Have to close the entire window to get out of it. Otherwise, keep up the good work.
  9. Thanks. I thought about that since they know where the caches are located but I didn't want it to seem like I just created a new account with a local address just so I could get them published. It makes sense but it also seemed "too convenient". I'll check on this other offer above before I resort to that. But thanks for the suggestion just the same.
  10. I did. Thanks. When I think of eastern Colorado I always think of the Plains. :-)
  11. On a recent trip to visit my family in Limon, Colorado I found several caches and placed two. But since my primary residence is in the San Diego area and I only get out to Limon twice a year (summer and Christmas) I can't get my caches activated due to concerns that they won't be maintained in a timely manner. So I need to find someone within a reasonable distance from Limon, that's basically anyone in the flat half of the state, who will agree to repair, replace or remove the cache in a timely manner if something goes wrong. If someone is up for this, and the reviewer agrees, I'll give you the waypoint name and you can be the FTF as well. Please help.
