  1. Maybe this "genius" blogger could do the sensitive earth a favor and take themselves off of it, because I'm sure the food they eat, the water they drink, the bike or car they use at some point has polluted the earth. It is self righteous people like this that have to preach to everyone else about how they are destroying the earth, but at the same time, took the swag and threw it in a dumpster to sit in a landfill for centuries. And as far as the kids that geocache, way to go genius! Why not just sucker punch the easter bunny and drop kick santa in front of them. Now the kids that were all excited to go find those caches will be left with nothing but a disappointing failure. They should send their psychiatrist bills to this know-it-all so he can pay for their broken dreams feelings of failure because you had to be the guardian of Mother Earth.
  2. Just ordered an Oregon 450 to replace my Magellan eXplorist (original) and my Triton 500. I think I am done with Magellan products. The Triton was a nightmare to use for geocaching and every firmware update seemed to take away some functionality. Not to mention that the battery life was under 4 hours for it, no backlight no compass, just informational screen.
  3. I'm having the same FRUSTRATING problem with mine. I originally bought the eXplorist 500 a few weeks ago only to find that there was no way that I could get the driver installed on Windows Vista 64-bit. And downgrading my OS is NOT an option. They just sent me a Triton 500 as a replacement, and I was excited. Just got it a few hours ago only to find that no matter how hard I try, I still cannot get the driver to install. I'm very savvy when it comes to tweaking drivers and installations, but this one just will not work. As usual, Magellan's Customer Service is completley useless. It would be nice if the people who answered the phone A.) Spoke English properly (preferably as their 1st language), and . Didn't ask a question, then put me on hold for 5 minutes while they asked someone else. Anyone else had any luck with Vista 64-bit and their Triton?
  4. So I can't leave anything larger than a 3oz container of liquid or a can of Red Bull? Thanks to the airline standards. Just don't make me take my shoes off to find the cache.
  5. Granted that a Travel Bug Tag would be the idea solution, but it's not always the case. It was just an idea to add more features to the site.
  6. Both responses have valid points, but the point isn't to see whats in the cache before you find it, but to see what's in it after you found it already. For example, I travel to Hawai'i and leave and old Hot Wheels car in one of the caches there, chances are that I'm not going to be back in Hawai'i again anytime soon, but just for the sake of curiosity I want to know if it is still there or not. Or have the option to have a text list or a picture even of all the items in the cache. Like I said, it would only be for people who have already found the cache, because finding out what is inside is what makes it fun.
  7. I think it would be a great addition to add the ability to update what items are in the cache, on a option basis. It could simply be a list that is modified by the users who have found or own the cache only, this way they could see if the items were still there or not. And for those people who have not found the cache, they would not be able to see what is in the cache currently. Or even option it (on a user-level) so that people can or cannot see what is in the cache. I'm sure there will be a lot of objections to it, but for others, it would be pretty nice to know.
