  1. Just deleted several geocoin logs as this user is discovering them even though i have them in my possession & no one else has been shown them for a few years.
  2. We have just had a discovered log for one of our TBs that went missing from a cache in Alabama on 04.04 2004! To say we are amazed is an understatement as we never expected it to turn up after all these years.
  3. £20 per team rules out many a lone cacher. There's a recession on and £20 is too much for many of us.
  4. I know you can't please everyone, but have you given any thought to the fact that you may be limiting the number of participants, in that many people work during the week, and so may not be able to enter their local hustle?
  5. How big is the layby? Me thinks organising an all day event in it could be a good idea to stop said person from parking there for a day
  6. and what a good reason that was If you read the previous posts you will see why it was archived
  7. At the time it was revealed that virtuals were being done away with so the cache was archived. I don't have any problem with it being logged provided the criteria for logging are met.
  8. The cacher in question didn't even fulfill the criteria for logging the virtual as i have had no emails with the required information from them.
  9. Hmmm the finder became a member way after the cache was archived so i will delete their find. Edited to add I have now deleted their find log.
  10. We archived a virtual way back on 2nd November 2005 and it as been logged as found on July 28th this year! Opinions please, would you allow the find to stand or not? The Middle of Nowhere?
  11. Thanks Dave, I may well just start from scratch, as I don't really have the patience to log all our old finds, and besides which I am now Me and not part of a team. So to be fair to everyone it is better to start from scratch then I can reach my milestones on my own merit. Joan
  12. Yep we are both well, though no longer living together though we are still friends. I need to get a life back and do a bit of socialising hence the reason I am going to get back into my favourite hobby
  13. Well I have just found my rather dusty and hardly used GPS and hopefully I will get out and about geocaching locally shortly, I am sure there are lots of new ones out there since I last got out. Is it the 60Csx?? Seeing yours at an event was the reason Ali let me upgrade from our old eTrex! Welcome back. Yep that is mine, I think I have only used it 4 or 5 times since I got it, luckily I took the batteries out when I put it away otherwise it could have been ruined

  15. High guys, this is Eeyore, I am back, I have opened a new account as Eeyore 1 but that doesn't show anything Cave Troll and I have done in the past. So you may not think it is me the original one so I thought I would post under our joint names, so you can check up if you do know us, well me now. I know it must be around 4 years ago that I last posted anything that was after my 50th Birthday bash in Llangollen. I don't know how many geocaches I will be able to get out to find, I now have no transport and 2 very elderly lancashire heelers, and one of them is blind. So I am a bit limited in what I will be able to do, but I am going to try to do some, it is doing me no good at all sitting at home on my own. Basically I just want to see how many of our old geocaching mates are still around, I have met a few new peeps who have been to do Megs Cache but that is about all. After this post I will be posting on my basic new membership and my name is Eeyore 1 Eeyore (Joan)
  16. i remember you two. glad to have you back.look forward to seeing you both at future events Thanks alma, we too hope to bump into you
  17. In our case we had quite a few major happenings in our everyday lives that had to take priority over caching. Now time has passed we are just dusting off the GPSRs and getting back out there.
  18. We are very sorry to here of Maddies passing. Our thoughts are with you at this time. Mark n Joan
  19. OMG what a shock to read that both of you are resigning, Two nicer guys there never were, you have both been supportive and helpful to all members and especially to us both in a geocaching and on a personal level. On behalf of Cavetroll and myself may I say Thank You both for all the help and support you have given us over the years, it was much appreciated, there was one thing that we did that couldn't have been achieved without both of your help and support, you both know what that was, luckily though what happened was then and not now as now we would have been unable to achieve the aim of helping replace stolen property of such a worthy Charity. I am absolutely gob smacked, I must admit that I haven't been on the forums for quite a while and when Mark showed me this I just had to put my tuppeny worth in, it is such a sad day for the UK Geocachers and I am sure Groundspeak will feel the ripples of its implications as they should. I really can't believe it has come to this. It is obvious from both your postings that you will never re-appear with your MODs hats on ever again, so all we can do is wish you both well and all our love and support goes with you. Now get out there get your lives back, take a deep lung full of fresh air, lighten your hearts and enjoy the Great Outdoors. Joan and Mark aka Cave Troll & Eeyore
  20. The original lock n lock boxes are excellent cache containers. We placed our first cache using a lock n lock on the 14th September 2003 and it has been in situe 24 hours a day, 7 days a week untill toda, when we swapped the original box for an ammo box. The cache contents were still dry and the box in great condition apart from some slight nibbling to one of the locking tabs.
