  1. I am in the process of planning my summer camping trip. I may be in the area Friday night, but don't know for sure yet.
  2. I went to the first 2 & had a good time at both. I camped nearby the first year & last year only came for the day. Not sure which I am doing this year yet. I wish that there was camping closer to the event. The only real disappointment I had was that the chair lift was not working last year. I had planned to take it to the top & hike down getting the caches available along the way. It would be nice if the chair lift was functioning this year.
  3. That is exactly what I did. It was fun!! And worked out perfectly!
  4. Hi all, I have a 4 hour layover in Minneapolis on my way to CA next Wed. I would love to pop out & get a cache in this state. Can anybody suggest a nice quick park & grab that I can take a short taxi ride to? Thanks! Judy (aka Ackidge) from Cape Cod MA.

    Airport caches

What is the security like at that airport? Is it notoriously slow or is it always a breeze to get through. If it is like Boston, no way would I try to go out. If it is like Providence RI, I think it could be do-able. Anybody fly through here & know what I might encounter?

    Airport caches

I am going to GeoWoodstock & have about a 90 minute layover in Detroit. I am hoping to be able to get a cache near the airport. Can anybody tell me from personal experience A: if there is a quick & easy cache near the airport & B: How is it generally to get through security here? Is this a realistic endevour for a 90 minute layover??? Thanks for any insight!!
  7. MA,FL, LA, NH.VT. Only 5 states. Give me a break. I live on an island!
  8. Steve, An air conditioned cache would be great do be able to do! Do you know what any of the caches along the Apache Trail are called? I would like to look one up to see what it & the others nearby look like. An hours drive probably wouldn't be out of the question. The weather will certainly be a deciding factor once we are there. Be we certainly want to have enough options to choose from. Judy
  9. I realize the weather is going to be an issue. Too bad there aren't more air-conditioned caches! But since I am there for a conference I have no say in the dates. We are staying at the Marriot desert ridge resort. It appears to be near the loop 101 freeway & Scottsdale Road. While we will probably do mostly urban caches we would like to know of a couple that would involve some hiking in case we get that ambitious. And of course any that might be truly unique. I am also hoping that my 100th find will occure while I am there!
  10. The last week in August I am heading to Phoenix for a conference. My brothers from southern CA are flying in to join me for a weekend of cacheing. Any we definatly must do? We have a day & 1/2 for cacheing. Thought we might like to know of a few that would include some moderate hiking as well as any that are just not to be missed. Thanks in advance for the input!!
  11. My brother who lives in Southern CA got me hooked. Now I am truly addicted. I live on an island which makes it tough. But I find my self looking for excuses to go off island so I can cache! My teenage boys come with me most times. They are very competative about it. We all are amazed at the places this sport has brought us to.
  12. My brother swears by his Magellan Meridean & I swear by my Garmin legend, but it hasn't caused a feud yet! In fact it is fun to go together & use both. Adds to the competition!
