  1. I have a Vista Cx. I noticed (learned) that I get a better "look" at satellites when I hold it with the screen facing up, instead of facing horizontally. I really read the book that came with the unit... My accuracy went up considerably when I did this. Good luck. PS I wouldn't buy any other GPS brand.

  3. I am too cheap to buy a 1 Gig card for my Legend Cx / (Now it's a Vista Cx, but that's a long story) I got on the Ebay and bought two 64 mb Micro cards with adapters. About $5.00 each plus $1.00 shipping. (I don't use the adapters.) Can anyone answer this question? How do I mark and store these puny cards so they are ready for use? I am in the midwest-- Kansas city area. I can load all of the counties in Missouri, all the bordering counties in the adjoining states, with 250 geocaching and other waypoints, and the card is half full. I figure with multiple cards, I can preload the maps I may need-- but I think I'll lose them. Any Ideas on how to keep them safe and ready for use?
  4. Well, I went through number four last week. Returned it to Garmin in Olathe. They Gave me the answer to the problem, and were extremely detailed about what the problem was and how they were taking care of me. I am very satisfied that Garmin has a great customer service philosiphy from the top down, and they proved it by their response to me. I would not by any other brand of GPS.
  5. I just fried my third Legend CX. Same Issue-- starting the vehicle with the power adapter cable plugged in. Looks like I may never use the 12 volt power adapter again, unless on a long trip, etc. I'm dropping the unit off at Garmin in Olathe KS tomorrow. The Cust. service guy said approx. 5 working days before I get it back. he also said he would replace the power cord. I'll post again after the repair/replacement. MoHillbilly
  6. Thanks for that report. I figured it was something like that. I received my Legend Cx bundle from Cabela's last friday, and I have been very hesitant to use it with the power supply adapter. If I do have another problem, i will send it to Garmin. I figure they don't want a flood of units back for a "free" upgrade. Later, MoHillbilly
  7. I have read some threads concerning the Legend Cx locking up when plugging in the power or USB cable. I ordered mine from Cabela's in March. After approx. 1 week, while plugging in the 12 volt power adapter, the screen locked up and the unit would not respond. It would, however, work on AA battery power after removing and reinserting the batteries. But, each time I tried to reattach the power supply or usb cable, it would lock up. I contacted Garmin Tech support, and got the "2-3 weeks" answer. They did say the "Cabela's has a great return policy", so I returned it to Cabela's for exchange. I used that unit for approx. 3 weeks and SAME THING! Same answer from Garmin, and I just Shipped the 2nd bundle back to Cabela's this evening. This seems very similar to the Vista problem they had with deleting the tracks and then powering off and having welcome screen lockup. Come to think of it, I may have deleted the Track log before the problem happened. I figure if it happens again I will be getting to know the boys at garmin much better. Any ideas, or suggestions out there?
  8. Hello, I ordered a 4-pack two weeks ago. (Two weeks ago the paypal payment cleared), and I still have not seen my bugs. I ordered a single and some cache stickers and received them within 1 week. Should I be concerned yet?
