  1. It already does that. Just uncheck the box that says "Yes, this cache is currently active (Reviewers will not see this listing unless box is checked)" then save the page and the reviewer will never see the page in the review queue until you check it. You could work on it for years and it will be there.
  2. yes I suggest instead of getting an answer from A reviewer, you should get one from your reviewer. Since they are guidelines.
  3. Kind of like the box shrinking leaving many valid ideas outside the box. Like the newly discovered rules change on letterboxes leaving one wondering, "what's the point?" Cr as you stated in the letterbox thread: There have been no changes to the Letterbox hybrid cache guidelines. What is going on over in that thread is as you said more of a misunderstanding (my word not yours) There are no newly discovered rules changes on letterbox hybrid caches.
  4. If you would like to cancel this subscription, you will need to log in to your PayPal account. A subscription can be canceled up until the day of the next scheduled payment. To cancel an Active Subscription: 1. Log in to your PayPal account 2. Click on the History subtab 3. Choose the Subscriptions field from the Show drop-down menu 4. Check the From box and change the date back 2 years (or approximately the date you created your subscription) 5. Click Search 6. To view the details of a specific Subscription Creation, click Details in the Details column 7. At the bottom of this page, click Cancel Subscription 8. On the confirmation page, click Cancel Subscription again Once you have canceled through Paypal your subscription you will continue to have access to your premium features until your Premium Membership reaches the expiration date. Thanks for the past support!
  5. That may have been your problem. What you wrote is basically an advertisement for the other website. It is possible that you can work with your reviewer to change the text to make it work. you can also write appeals@geocaching.com and submit all your info.
  6. I just looked at the cache and it doesn't say anything about a pod cache. Did you change the description? Like any cache some get listed some do not. A lot depends on the description on the page.
  7. no offence but it pays to look before you post. Here is an active thread about the problem. It is about 4 posts down from yours.
  8. This will provide some answers.
  9. You can email Groundspeak through a regular email client use contact@geocaching.com
  10. This seems to be part of the problem. Yes I know its not all the problems but if you use Yahoo this is one of the reasons you are having problems. Groundspeak is aware of the issues and working on them.
  11. That is only true if your reviewer says that is the best way to contact him. Some reviewers use the note to the reviewer some only use an email to the reviewer as the way to contact them. There is no one way that is the right way. It is up to the reviewer. In this case it is the OPs first cache and he doesn't know his reviewer yet so he cant use either method.
  12. I know of about 15. But as far as I know, all the caches on them are for VC's (almost all in Germany) where armchair logging is an accepted practice, and not really the subject of this forum thread. I've yet to see a "these are virtual caches you can probably get away with googling without actually visiting" bookmark list, but I'll let you know if I come across one. A wise person once said:"Keep in mind the consensus isn't always right. There are times where the strong need to stand together as a group may cloud our judgement as to what is the right decision to make."
  13. Short succinct answer. Why 'not really'? An explanation why it can't be done would be better. Not really
  14. Like any company president Jeremy is not always aware of the little details in all his departments. It is why he has employees. From his level he gave you the right answer. It just so happens that I helped someone else solve this and knew a more detailed answer.
  15. I think you meant to say contact@geocaching.com That's the ticket. Paypal allows refunds within 30 days (or more, I forget). Reference the transaction in the contact email for a quicker refund. Thanks, Jeremy! Will write to contact@Groundspeak.com with the reference numbers right away! Daniel Jeremy, I sent the detailed message below to contact@geocaching.com and to contact@Groundspeak.com immediately after you confirmed that that was what I should do, 5 days ago. I got no response, no refund, and no membership extension. Is there anything else I should do? Thanks! Contact Paypal and request a refund on the second charge. That will work. It is also what contact@ is going to tell you to do.
  16. Go ahead and cancel your current monthly subscription. This will not affect your status or any of the time you have left on your current subscription. Here are instructions for cancelling: 1. Login to your paypal account at www.paypal.com 2. Click on the History subtab 3. Click on Details of the subscription in question 4. Click on subscription reference number next to "In reference to" 5. Scroll down and click on CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION 6. Click Cancel Subscription 7. You have successfully canceled the subscriber's subscription Now that you have cancelled your monthly payments, set up a new yearly account here: http://www.geocaching.com/subscribe/ Once you have completed the process, PayPal will send you a subscriber ID by email. Once the payment has cleared your account, go back to the link above, log in, and enter that number in the box at the top of the page. Doing this will add one full year to your current account expiration. Thanks for your continued support of the site!
  17. Why the **** didn't I think of that...? Well, I guess it would be even better, having no limitation at all. But aaanyyyhooo... Is any chacnge likely to be done? Not really
  18. firetacks.com remember google is your friend
  19. I didn't receive the e-mail from you, but I did just read the note on the cache page. Thanks for taking a look at it. By the way, wouldn't your reviewer note have generated an e-mail to me automatically, or do reviewer notes only generate an owner e-mail after the cache has been approved? If the former is the case, maybe something's wrong with my e-mail account? Next time I go to Sam's Club, I'm stocking up! The reviewer note generates an email to the cache page owner. (and yes to anyone watching the page, but that isn't the issue here )
  20. Chocolate? Huh? Our local reviewer (Quiggle) and our nearby PA reviewer (Keystone) demand a pre-review deposit of a SIZEABLE amount of cache in their offshore bank accounts before they will even look at a cache listing submittal! They would laugh us off the planet if we tried to send chocolate rather than the customary "courtesy donation" of $5,000 per cache submittal! You must remember that their boss loves dark chocolate and an offering to her over rides the payment to the local reviewer and its cheaper.
  21. Unfortunately your idea of scraping the page is against the Site policy's. Perhaps that is why you cant login that way. Stick to a PQ its easier and supports the site.
