  1. <snip> People have personal websites with the coin collections posted that people can google and find, they have been sharing their coins virtually for a long time, but that doesn't peak any interest from Groundspeak, yet someone mentions a coin or travel bug on a Podcast and big brother has it locked in an hour. <snip> If you would like to post or email me a list of coins and TBs that are being virtualy logged I would be happy to make sure they get locked. When they are reported we lock them. Its not selective, its based on finding out about them.
  2. premium members can run a PQ that is defined by date and location. This would do what you want.
  3. According to the guidelines the only people that can make this decision is Groundspeak. It is best if you ask them first as the guidelines say. Write Contact@geocaching.com and present your plan. Be as complete as possible.
  4. What was the ticket number that you received when you sent your email?
  5. As the originator of the "I want a Pony" phrase and the owner of the Alpha Test group Ponys in Waymarking.com I think Blue Deuce and I need to have a chat about infringment regarding "I want a pony"
  6. Since you are required to sign up and log in this should be cleared with Groundspeak first.
  7. From the Terms of Use for the Site: Notice has been given.
  8. Can you point to that in the guidelines? I've seen some caches that are inside of cloveleafs or in commuter parking lots located within the cloverleaf. Here's a quote from one cache page: "I decided to see what could be done with this Park-and-Ride, which would be better than a guardrail cache... and I came up with a night cache glint trail! The 2.5 acre nice open woods are totally inside the Exit 11 Cloverleaf." Not all but many states have laws prohibiting access to the areas inside of interchanges. This would make them a guideline violation.
  9. Not to be rude but the answer is in the guidelines you indicated you read when you submitted your cache page. The reviewers are volunteers and normally get to them within 72 hours. There are many factors that can cause this to take longer. If you can give me the GC# of your cache I can look at it and possible give you a better answer.
  10. Just playing devil's advocate here for a second.... Will Jeep Corp. respond and give me a Jeep Id#?? Having got that bit of snarkiness out of my system - I would agree that this feature just isn't really needed - take time to do it right or write the numbers down. Or as mentioned - email the owner. No Mr. Snarky Pants, Jeep will probably not respond. I didn't see the Jeep example. So it still works for most other situations. so there Sheesh Somes children's People.
  11. Just email the owner and ask for the code. Its not that much work and doesnt require recoding the site.
  12. If you feel that you are not getting the level of service you should be from the reviewers or forum moderators simply e-mail; reviewers@geocaching.com with your concerns. This e-mail address is only for reporting concerns regarding Cache reviewers and Forum Moderators. Happy Geocaching
  13. Ok lets stay on topic, Virtual caches are not the topic
  14. Here is a suggestion, Dont do it, It violates the guidelines.
  15. I agree, and Ponies!!!! we need more hamster riding ponies on his site.
  16. This entire post was relevant. What problem are you having.
  17. Please do NOT change the date on the cache page. Just because you can does not mean you should. It is abusing the new email feature to change the date. It is there for a reason but this is not one of them.
  18. You can find a good answere here. In fact its a good FAQ for a lot of Geocaching information.
  19. Yes and no. Yes you can get all the caches in a state or region. No you can not do it in one file. As a premium member you can run a pocket query that will give you 500 caches per file. That is the max you can get per query and you can run 5 query's per day. To be honest its probably not wise to build a separate database of the entire state as your data will tend to be stale. But that is up to you.
  20. Did you look at the preview of the PQ to be sure that it contained data? It is possible to set one up that returns no data. Setting Caches I have found and Caches I have not found results in 0 data as an example. You also need to set the day for it to run. Your normal email should be fine. What were the options you set on your first PQ?
  21. It would seem to me that at this point the question has been asked and answered. This thread is becoming a performance issue instead of a hardware issue. Perhaps its time to close this one and move the chat to the pinned thread about site speed.
  22. I have you both beat. I had lunch at McDonalds!
  23. You are replying to a year and a half old post. its was fixed since this thread was created.
  24. Its more likely the new improved Hamster food they started using. "Speedy hamster flakes, Now with Dexedrine"!
