  1. THIS is a link to it from the PC, you can always link your phone to the PC and install it that way or input it's full name, Geocaching Droid Army Knife, into the Market on your phone. I just checked and it does appear.
  2. must admit I don't think I would ever have a use for a 90k cache database, I keep the sth west to hand when we are down here and then revert to Sussex, Surrey, Berks & Heathrow area when we are back home
  3. that was back when we first started, we have not been challenged in the last 2 yrs.
  4. We personally carry some small tri-fold leaflets that explain all about geoaching and on the occasions that we have been challenged by other members of the public we explain what we are doing without giving away the possible location and when we were approached by members of the police force (3 occasions) we simply gave them a copy of the leaflet to read. Everybody was happy and left us alone to get on and do our thing.
  5. That's some fair old database there John, don't think I will bother loading that many, yet!! I like it as it is one less item to carry as I always have the phone with me.
  6. Ever wished that you could carry your entire GSAK database around with you? Found this helpful Android app the other day, it allows you to load your entire GSAK database on to your Android phone and be able to access it at anytime without any need for a mobile signal. You have the ability to read all of the description, hint and logs that are stored, you can also use the built in compass function to navigate to the cache. It also has the facility to add extra waypoints, so the next stage(s) can be added for multis. It's FREE as well.
  7. Personal comment and not from the GAGB Committee Maybe, now that there is a consultation thread been opened, some of the posters could post some suggestions rather that just complain.
  8. Try contacting Garmin UK as they have arranged for quite a few of the Etrex range to be returned and replaced with fully reconditioned. Simply say that you are aware that this a know problem and what can they do to help you. They replaced a 18mnth old Legend with a brand new one in a box for me FOC, they also replaced a Vista CSx that was over 3 yrs old with a reconditiond one FOC as well.
  9. This is a personal statement and not committee influenced. If people are that concerned with what the GAGB committee are doing/saying then get involved. Become a full member and then stand for election/nominate another for election/vote and then you can be involved in implementing what needs saying/doing. It is easy to stand back and criticise but much harder to get involved.
  10. Looking at the cachers logs on the TB pages he has moved TB's/Coins on in the past. I think maybe that he is not able to get out caching or has possibly lost them.
  11. Might be worth noting that members of the GAGB get discounts from both of the listed suppliers. The details can be found in the Members Chat section.
  12. Just found out that, despite auto update option being ticked, the Android app was not doing that. Removed the old version and downloaded the latest one. Voila, new style compass and interface. Now to play.
  13. I wish they would do some extra work on the Android version. It's ok but could do with being kept up to the iPhone standards seeing as we pay as well.
  14. Or buy some of the GAGB cache box labels - they also have the number on then ....... and a bargain at only 50p each. 60p each or 5 for £2.50
  15. There are a few downloads that may help you on the GAGB download page HERE Always remember to include a Cache Note in your cache, there is also a handy contact card with a standard rate phone number that is monitored by the GAGB in case of damage, moved or in the wrong place.
  16. That's using his reviewer title. He also has an alter ego as "Mancunian Pyrocacher" Honesty is the best policy I always say! All reviewers work under a seperate account name therfore the only finds that they show on their reviewer account will be the events they attend as a reviewer.
  17. We looked on EBay and got 50 trolley tokesn for £27.50. They make nice swap items.
  18. From one ex smoker to another, well done! August Bank Holiday (Sat) 1976 was the last day I smoked a cigerette. Normal Bank Holiday Sunday and I refused to go out and buy my normal 60 ciggies and as the Monday was the same I had 2 full days without. Just decided to give it a try. Breathing ability slowly recovered to the extent that I ran 5 London Marathons and trained for around 50miles a week. Climb to the highest cche you ca,n just to demonstrate to yourself how much better you feel without the dreaded weed and, like me, do not give in to any temptation to start again.
  19. Peer pressure is the only real way anything is going to happen here, Groundspeak cannot really bring any pressure to bear other than sending emails to the account holders. As it now seems that the friends who introduced them to geocaching are not on speaking terms there probably is little hope that anything will happen.
  20. If you keep your finds up to date in GSAK, I connect the Oregon up after a session and keep mine up to date that way, you will be able to run the StatsGen macro anytime you want to.
  21. I use a laptop, an Android phone and a PS3. I can happily stream videos and iPlayer using the MiFi. My Android phone is on Vodafone and I can use it as an access pointm on the occasions that I have I have clocked up to 3Mb download.
