  1. If you have a PalmOS system you can view GPX files with CacheMate www.smittyware.com If you have PocketPC GPX Sonar is the way to go. GPX Sonar For your laptop try Watcher http://gcchat.clayjar.com/
  2. Also you don't have to upgrade every step in between, just the 3.5 upgrade.
  3. There is a park just down the street from the Garmin plant here in KC. He was testing some prototype units that aren't released yet. I promised not to give out information on the units he was testing and he let me look at them. Very cool, made me sad that I had just purchased a new unit. I have seen some rumors about the unit that I saw seen on this website. All I can say is very cool.
  4. With the exception of man, most primates, rodents, and several other animal groups, have a "penis bone", called a baculum. Located within the erectile tissue, this bone provides rigidness to aid in copulation. Because man is one of the few mammels to not have this baculum many cultures use the bone as a fertility charm.
  5. I talked with the Garmin software engineer the other day in the park. He said that he would be putting up the new software soon. Only change is that some users on the coast where picking up to many WAAS satelites and messing up their WAAS readings.
  6. So does the GPS give the location of the antenna or the GPS unit?
  7. I'm a field service technician, I cache whenever I get cought up with work. And on the way home from my last job of the day.

  9. I downloaded Cachemate yesterday after doing paper logs and the Geocaching.com standard for looking at logs on the PDA. I just wanted to say publicly that this is the best 7 dollars I have ever spent. Works like a champ. Thanks Smitty.
  10. I use my laptop with ExpertGPS installed. My son loves to watch the track on the photo maps.

  12. I've also found that sometimes walking around the spot if possible and looking where the pointer is pointing is better than trying to get 0 feet. About 20 feet away from the item I start walking around the cache.
  13. I bought mine from gpsgeek and really like it. I got the combo cable for 13.20
  14. I don't know if all GPS work the same but on my Vista I can change the format under settings and it will change all my waypoints. Then I can write down the change. Also by putting the format to dd.mmmmm and inputting the decimal then changing it back to dd mm.mmmm I can see it the other way.
  15. I'd be happy to help with one condition. Seeing as to how you are a starving college student you can't call me. If you email me with a time and number I will call you. Then you can use the toll money to buy a pizza and some beer.
  16. What if the child is inside? My GPS doesn't work inside. If the Whereis works when will they make a GPS that works under the trees in a park?
  17. I have a Vista. I really like the compass for finding those caches that are hidden in the woods.
