  1. I have received some 'tile' maps from open street: Can I put them straight onto my garmin? and............ As they all have the same file name, can I just rename them. Lastly how do I know which is which as they all have the same file name??? Again many thanks for the help
  2. Seems complicated - can I not just put them on the same card? Which file do I put them in?
  3. Hi I have a Garmin 20 device. Besides the fact that caches cannot be sent to the device directly (edge/firefox) - have to send as a query! I am going abroad next week and want to do a few caches (despite being with a couple of muggles!) I have downloaded all the caches I need to the device (using pocket queries) but want to know if I will have maps available when I get there? I have of course the 'free' British maps but what about European maps? I have looked at the maps section on the device and as well as the British maps enabled, it says that the 'Digital Globe Map' is enabled. Does this one give me access to European maps or do I need to download a map (and are there any free ones? Cheers
  4. Could I set up an Earthcache which realates to paranormal activities in a particular location?
  5. Hi I have just downloaded 22 caches to my eTrex 30 (from the GC website) However I can only see 14 of them!!. When I open it up on the computer I can see all 22 files, but why won't the handset show me them all??? HELP
  6. Thanks for the advice The only identification is the fishing rights and unfortunately I do not know who owns the land so the GAGB site won't be much use I don't think Worcestershire County Council are on there but there quote was: "Just to confirm, if your route is on the public right of way only then this is the councils route that we are responsable for". Now as the route I have chosen is along public footpaths does this mean I am alright to go ahead do you think??? Checked on the GAGB website and we do have an agreement with the county council Think I will go ahead Gandalfrees
  7. For about a month now I have been planning a series along a stretch of a nearby river. So far I have contacted the fishing club (three times - no reply) So I contacted the local authority. They have no record of who owns the land and suggested I contact the fishing club(!!!) Then contacted the Environmet Agency - and they do not own the land (Arrrggghhhhh They did suggest that I got in touch with Land Registry HOW MUCH The walk is all along footpaths Does anyone have any suggesteions or should I just do it Gandalfrees

  10. It's true Page loads everything - except the map!!!!!!!!!!!! This happens on a regular basis now! Is it just a UK thing????? Very frustrating!!!! ps I would add a picture if I knew how
  11. Could anyone tell me how I get notifications of new caches sent to my phone?
  12. Logged on today and all the page appears except the map I am based in the UK as well!!! Seemed to have been getting better lately but just as I wanted to plan my caching for tomorrow - nothing
  13. Me too - now I'm not able to 'translate' the hints. Is something being done? Is there no communication from up high? This is annoying!!!!!!
  14. Thanks for your replies The further problem is that two cachers hold each of the TBs I have contacted the holder of the proxy (Dave_Sarah) on a couple of occasions but they have not got back to me. If they had it would be easy - I told them to hold on to the proxy TB. It would be easy if Dave_Sarah would reply to let me know they got the message but.......... I could just wait for them to pass it on of course and then just email the next holder Gandalfrees
  15. Problem is the 'original' is about to set sail for New York If I grab the proxy it will automatically grab the original as well
  16. Hi some time ago I was forced to conceed that a TB of mine had gone missing and as a result marked it as 'missing' on the TB details page. I made up a 'proxy' TB in it's place. I now cannot contact the 'holder' of the proxy TB to tell them I need them to take it out of circulation. More importantly I cannot change the TBs status from 'missing' on it's detail page. Can anyone help???? Gandalfrees
  17. Hi I just wondered if anyone else encountered the same problem? In my normal web browser (Internet explorer 9) I sometimes get no maps on the cache page - either the small or large. When I click on to get the larger versions of the map the page pops up but a big white space where the map should be. This is however sometimes intermittent but annoying to a degree, especially when I want to locate a cache quickly I have taken to searching in Google Chrome but have noticed the same thing happens from time to time. The worst thing however, which is not intermitten is that when I click on the hint for a cache, it just flips to the top of the cache page and never reveals the hint Is there something I am doing wrong Cheers
  18. Hi I have recently changed my email address and have changed it on Geocaching.com. Everything works fine However when I get emails/notifications from the forums they go to my old email address What do I need to do to get them to my new email address gandalfrees
