Not something I would really recommend, but I think the only cache you can log is a moving cache. But there are only a few left, so if you can find one before you leave AND it is within its goal to be dropped in another country...

Of er tools zijn weet ik niet, lijkt me ook lastig want er is van alles mogelijk bij een mystery met noten op een notenbalk. Soms gaat het om de naam van de noot: c,d,e,f,g,a,b,c waarbij je dan de letterwaarde moet nemen. Maar het kan ook om de afstand gaan tussen noten (let dan ook op verlagingen en verhogingen) of de positie van de noot in een een bepaalde toonsoort (stel er staat een fis aan de G-sleutel dan is het stuk in G en dan zou het zo kunnen zijn dat g=1, a=2 etc.). Maar ook hele andere dingen zijn mogelijk, bijvoorbeeld dat je moet herkennen wel stuk het is en dat het dan om de naam van het stuk of de naam van de componist gaat. Of dat je het moet herkennen en dan moet afmaken en dan dat de noten die volgen op een of andere manier het coördinaat vormen. Het kan ook om de lengte van de noot gaan, of hoe vaak een noot voorkomt. Kortom: heel veel mogelijkheden!

Dat de plugin niet meer werkt wil niet zeggen dat je geen caches op de gps kunt zetten. I.p.v. "Send to my GPS" kun je nu bijv. "GPX file" (wat ernaast staat) gebruiken als je losse caches naar je gps wil sturen. Wil je er veel tegelijk dan is een pocket query het handigste.

Ik zie toch diverse banners op je profiel staan, helemaal onderaan: Vicky, I found the Log, Ik heb agentje klager geholpen, ik hield bij hoog en laag vol, ik vond de verloren container (2x) en een niet complete code voor De wandelaar #1, zodat daarvan het plaatje niet zichtbaar is. Je moet wel een fllink stuk doorscrollen totdat je voorbij de projectgc-statistieken bent.

I can't duplicate your issue, if I look at the map I see the cache and also on the profile of the CO. Everything seems normal to me. I'm not using an app, but what are you using that might cause this? Are you sure you are logged in (with a premium account)?

When I write a log and use the italic button it produces a * instead of making the character italic. With bold I get three * on both sides of the character instead of a bold character. Didn't try the other layout options when writing a log, but there might be more issues. ps: this is on the website, I'm not using an app.

Sorry I'm wrong, I thought it was another trackable. I would first contact the CO to ask whether he removed the cache or someone else did, since it is strange to archive it without removing it. Maybe he or the other person forgot to log the trackable when he removed the cache(s).

Your trackable is not in the archived cache. From the logs its clear the trackable was already taken from the cache (without logging it) in 2013.

It seems all these trackables were lost and he made replacements (maybe the copy TB) with new missions. So that he grabbed them from caches where they were lost and then renew them isn't very strange. What is strange that he says he dropped them in your cache, but if he did, why didn't he log the logbook? Maybe he is mistaken and logged the wrong cache and with that dropped all trackables in the wrong cache. It's a pity he didn't contact you to verify so this could be determined for instance by describing the cache. Contacting Groundspeak seems useless, he didn't do anything wrong, he can do with his own trackables whatever he wants. You feel attacked because he says you are dodgy and he's far from happy because all his newly made trackables are (or might be) lost right after he dropped them. Assuming he falsely logged them for the miles seems very unlikely, what is the use especially since it isn't their mission to have as many miles as possible. I can understand he is frustrated, wouldn't you be when so many of your TBs are missing/stolen from caches and when you replace them they get stolen again? I would simply email him telling you read that he described you as dodgy and that you don't understand why he is accusing you of stealing his trackables. I would explain that you took the time to email him and ask him to contact you but he didn't, so there is no way in figuring out this way what happened. The only thing you are sure of is that 1) there is no log in the logbook of this specific cache 2) there were no TBs in the cache. So is he really sure he found this cache, or maybe another? Ask him to describe the container he found, maybe he found something else nearby or maybe he just made a mistake with the GC-code.

My friends also said it's not good idea going there alone. Silly, isn't it? Depends on what you think is silly, but I think it is nice they warned you. There are certain areas in the main cities (like in every main city all around the world) where there is a lot of criminality and even the people living there don't feel safe, especially in the evening and at night. And from what I've read in local press that area is like that, so I'm glad you haven't experienced anything negative and enjoyed your stay. But of course the definition of "a lot of criminality" also depends on what you are used to and have experienced all over the world. Not everyone is treated the same way in each country.

Depends on your nationality whether you need a visa and what the costs are.

De plugin wordt niet meer ondersteund, dus uiteindelijk werkt het nergens meer mee. Safari werkte tot ongeveer een week geleden nog, maar nu ook niet meer. Alternatief is dus de optie die HHL aangeeft of gewoon niet de plugin (knop Send to My GPS) meer gebruiken, maar de knop "GPX file" die ernaast zit, als je tenminste maar een of enkele caches naar je gps wil versturen.

They can't be final stages of multi or mystery caches, since these aren't included on the map. But the circles are probably physical waypoints of a multi. So if you check nearby multi caches see if they include given physical waypoints in your area.

Before posting a needs maintenance note you could also try to contact previous finders. Maybe they remember something about how the cache is hidden and can help you locate it.

Problem is solved. I've sent scount-on a private message in Dutch because I discovered he posted a photo of the trackable with the log of the cache he found. Since the code was visible I didn't want to respond here on the forum before it was removed (to avoid fake logs). The trackable was not logged in the cache, it had been missing for 2 years. But now he was able to log it, so the TB owner must be very happy!

Ja hoor, geen probleem. De code op de copy TB is hetzelfde, dus je moet de trackable even grabben en dan heb je hem weer in je bezit en kun je hem in een cache droppen. Zet wel even op de pagina dat je nu de copy TB op reis hebt gestuurd zodat dit voor andere cachers duidelijk is, ook voor het geval de originele TB nog ooit opduikt.

Charter Members zijn leden die al vanaf het begin dat er een betaald lidmaatschap is (2002) betalende leden zijn. Zij hebben dus meegeholpen het bedrijf op te bouwen en zolang ze ieder jaar (op tijd) lidmaatschapsgeld betalen blijven ze de titel Charter Member houden. Qua mogelijkheden is het gelijk aan het premium membership. Er zijn 448 charter members. Daarvan hebben 409 zelf caches (gehad) en momenteel zijn er nog 366 die zelf actieve (in totaal 27253) caches onderhouden. En al die caches kun je vinden in deze spreadsheet.

Je wil niet dat jij erop aangesproken wordt, dus als de cachers toch met de MTB gaan dan vraag je ze om dat uit hun log te halen. Vragen om iets uit een log halen is iets anders dan een log verwijderen. Maar bij de vraag van Lassie1803 lost het ook niets op, want het is niet de bedoeling dat het niet het log staat het is de bedoeling dat het ook echt niet gedaan wordt. Officieel (zie link) zijn er 2 redenen om een log te verwijderen, ofwel de cache is niet gevonden ofwel de Terms of Use zijn overschreden. Nu heb ik eens gekeken in de Terms of Use en daarin staat in ieder geval dat je niet de lokale regels mag overtreden: Violate any applicable local, state, national or international law. Dus als er in het geval van Lassie1803 verbodsborden staan voor auto's, dan heeft hij/zij gezien de geocaching regels dus het recht om het log te verwijderen. Maar als die verbodsborden er niet staan is er dus formeel geen reden om een log te verwijderen en kan er dus een flinke discussie ontstaan als je het wel doet.

Het behalen van een FTF etc is niets officieels en je vindt het dan ook niet hier terug bij je standaard statistieken. Een FTF intrekken kan dus niet, want het is niet iets wat officieel bestaat. Als iemand zichzelf FTF wil geven moet hij dat zelf weten, het betekent verder niets. Sommige cachers vinden het fenomeen FTF/STF/TTF wel belangrijk en die CO's noemen ze zelfs op de cache pagina. Dat laatste zou ik dan niet doen als je het er niet mee eens bent, gewoon negeren. Een log kun je niet intrekken/verwijderen als het in het logboekje staat. Logboekjes vervangen heeft dus ook geen zin. Ik weet niet of je officieel ook echt niet met de auto in de wijk mag rijden, staan er verbodsborden voor auto's? Als jouw cache niet per auto bereikbaar is omdat er verbodsborden staan, dan heb jij er alles aan gedaan om dit op je cache pagina duidelijk te maken. Dan begaat de betreffende cacher dus een overtreding en als er een agent is zou hij een boete kunnen krijgen. Als er meerdere van dit soort cachers bij jou in de buurt zijn, cachers die het niet zo nauw nemen met verkeersregels, dan lijkt het me verstandiger om geen caches te plaatsen hier. Want dan zorgen jouw caches voor overlast en dan krijg jij wellicht last met de buurt. Als er nergens verbodsborden staan dan mag iedere cacher er met de auto komen, ongeacht wat jij op je cache pagina schrijft. Bovendien lezen helaas de meeste cachers de pagina niet eens als het om tradi's gaat. Dus als je geen overlast van extra auto's in de wijk wil dan had je de caches beter niet kunnen plaatsen. Ergens een klacht indienen heeft geen zin, je kunt alleen de betreffende cacher een mailtje sturen en vragen waarom hij dat nou toch zo doet terwijl je toch dacht duidelijk te zijn op de cache pagina. Aangeven dat je het erg jammer vindt en dat hij daarmee het voortbestaan van deze caches in gevaar heeft gebracht. Meer kun je niet doen. Geen idee wat je bedoelt met Ohio, het hoofdkantoor van Groundspeak ligt in Seattle (Washington). Maar mijn advies: plaats geen caches in woonwijken waar kinderen (op straat) spelen, zoek leuke plekjes buiten de bebouwde kom dan heeft vrijwel niemand last van geocachers die zich al dan niet aan de wettelijke regels houden. En stel je nou eens voor dat cachers 's nachts door de wijk gaan lopen met een zaklamp om de caches te vinden, gaat dat niet voor problemen zorgen?
